Anyone have a diagram of the front windshield wiper linkage? I had the center ball joint fail/break on me the other night. Not fun, as I was doing 65 mph in the fast lane at night in the rain on a curve whilst surrounded by traffic on the highway.

Yes, it had been "fixed" under recall back in 1999, but I'm guessing that the years of salty east coast winter exposure combined with a crappy original engineering design didn't make this a failproof system.

Factory shop manual doesn't have squat in it regarding the mechanical linkage underneath the cowling at the base of the windshield. But when I stopped by the dealership to order parts, they certainly had an exploded diagram on their computer. Anyone have a copy of said exploded diagram?

OK, seeing as how no one has this microfiche available, how about another question:
How does the lever arm (between the wiper motor and the center pivot) attach to the center pivot? Magic? There are no bolts there connecting the two items. How are they supposed to not fall apart? Do they just snap together like those plastic Snap-Tite models?

yea they just snap in. I had to change mine a year ago
