Could somebody post a list of manufacturers for an exhaust on a '98 Sentra SE. I know already that it is a short list, but I'm starving for an exhaust. I heard that Tanabe makes one, is this true?

I know for a fact Greddy makes one and pretty sure Stromung too. There are like 4 companies that make complete cat back exhausts for 98-99 SEs however most people get theirs custom done like buying a straight thru muffler from some import shop and getting 2.25'' mandrel bent piping from a muffler shop then having the muffler shop weld it all together

Be sure any exhaust you purchase is at least 2.25 inches. A lot are made for the 1.6 GA. Strumong is one of the 1.6 er's that is in the process of making one for a 2.0SR20DE.

I need to know what exhaust to go with for a N/A SR20. I'm leaning towards the Tanabe exhaust just because it's not too overdone coffee-can-ish. Your replies on what system I can expect the most power from are appreciated. Thank you.

i seriously doubt any ONE straight thru, perforated core muffler is the best. unless you have mad $$ and love to sit on a dyno and replace exhaust after exhaust, there is no way to prove one is better than the other. go with what looks and sounds good to you. don't go more than 2.5" for the b-pipe. i highly suggest getting a dynomax thrush muffler and using it as a resonator. it will kill some of the droning.

I'm still looking for a distributor of a Tanabe hyper medalion exhaust that doesn't have it on back order or is claiming that it has been discontinued. If anyone knows a mom n pop shop that carries tanabe, that nobody else has already cleaned out, let me know. Thanks

Man, I have been waiting about 2 months now for my Tanabe so if you really want one you might want to put your order in cause you might have to wait for the next shipment to Makin Ind. if they don't already know that you want one.. I was told mine would arive late June - early July. So if choose not to order, that would be the time to start seriously looking because they will be back in stock pending on how many are shipped. (not very popular exhaust w/ sentra owners since everyone gets off on the Greddy)

I really don't like that GReddy exhaust, simply because of the double wall tip. The tip is the whole empahsis of your engine, it's all that everyone is allowed to see. It looks too stock to me, thats all.

I believe HKS makes one. but I can't remember what at site I saw it.

I hear Greddy is good, but I don't like the looks or the price tag. althought it's cheaper than the trust system, which I hear is the best.

For those of you wanting a Tanabe exhaust,
I recently found out that the reason it is taking so long for a restock in the states for the Hyper Medallion is that Tanabe has decided to remake all of them for all cars as the Super Hyper Medallion and they are making them by most popular application first I was informed that I would not see one until twards the end of the year!!
So I canceled my order and grabbed a HKS Hyper Universal muffler and a Apexi Rev Speed meter..
The new design will be completely stainless steel and will feature a straight through design as well it will alot lighter, sounds great though I wanted an exhaust and I did not want to wait close to a year to get one.
