Your best bet is to go to Pep Boys or Auto Zone and getting a Haynes manual. It can answer about 95% of the questions you'll have and it's only like $12.

The cap and rotor is pretty easy. I don't remember how I did it but I basically just took it apart and put it back together with the new parts. Just be careful and slow so as to not loose any small parts and also remember what order everything goes in.
That's kinda how I took apart my intake manifold and changed my fuel injectors. After doing a little research on the web, I just went at it.
I do have FSM now though and it's worth every penny!

what, i dont get it. well first thing just take the two, only screws out of the distributor cap, set the cap to the side without disconnecting any of the plug wires. dont worry about any small parts falling out of the distributor because there aren't any that should fall out, period! underneath the cap is your rotor, notice it's position and pull off the old one and install the new rotor in the same spot and position as the old rotor (make sure you push it on, all the way). install your new cap over the rotor and screw it down, snug it fairly tight, not too tight though. Last but not least, install the plug wires on the new cap one at a time, using the old one that has been set to the side as your example.
BLING, BLING!@!!!
YOUR DONE

Would any cap and rotor I ccould get from an autozone suffice, or should I go to a dealer and get them?

Hello, 5 year old thread.
Best to stick with OEM, they aren't that expensive.
