I have heard that a shifter from a Civic will work in our cars. Has anybody heard anything about this? If so I will go buy a short shifter for a civic, because it will be alot cheaper and easier to find.

This is the first time I've ever heard of that.

I say, just save your money and buy a shifter that's meant for your car.

great web link. I looked at a civic short shift and my factory one about a year ago at work. I didn't get it. I don't remember why it was wrong, but if it was perfect, it would have been put on my car. Most people tell me to get the Pace Setter for about $90 through Summit. It's a lot like the SMC unit and may even be the same, but cheaper.
Please read this post as it has a lot of info. http://www.sr20deforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19396

Lower quality materials. That's why it's cheaper.

SMC is a great short shifter along with B&M. And yes a 95+ shifter will work, i have one in now. All 91-98 shifters are the same. I have heard and seen integra one work but need modification. Dont get one, it is too much trouble.

Heehee I went geto and took a hacksaw to
my stock shifter. Chopped of ~1" and
put a new knob on it. I did it mostly
for looks, it doesn't give you that
wrist-a-matic shift throw like a real
short shifter. :D

I've heard nothing but good things about B&M and SMC shifters.
