My clutch pedal is making a creaking noise that's annoying the shit out of me. The clutch works perfectly fine, but when I release it, it creaks. I drowned the back of the pedal, where the cable hooks up with the pedal, with WD40 and it didn't help at all. Any ideas of what else I could try. The car only has 47K miles, so I realy don't think that I need to replace my clutch cable. TIA

dude, just replace the clutch cable. i took mine into the dealership to change my oil. i had the exact same sound that you were talking about. they said it's the clutch cable. they also it might get stiffer after time.

How many miles did your car have when you replaced it? Damn, I thought that a clutch cable would last a bit longer than 47K. Oh well, looks likeits time for another geek-out. I have my radiator hoses, Gen5 header, and now a clutch cable to do.

i did mine at 48k. i tried lubricating it...that didn't work. it also helps when you have the hook-up. hehe. just change it bro...the only thing it will hurt is your wallet. (depending on how big it is)

Mine made noise so i covered it in wd40 and the next day the clutch cable went snap. So i'd replace it if i were you.

yup, clutch cable. My original one made noise only after about 10,000 miles. My new one has been quiet for a lot longer. I better find some wood to start knocking on.

Don't forget the clutch pedal spring! I had some pretty annoying noises come out of the spring. They disappeared once I lubed that spring up well.
I actually have a new one that I was going to put in some time, hopefully it won't be that difficult.
