which header would be a wiser decision, based on power gain and noise level?

If you are looking to get the MOST power out of a header, get the HS. If you just want some power at a cheaper cost, look for a Pacesetter (if you can still find one). As for noise level, with either one, it will be louder.

Also, do a search, there are a ton of threads about HS vs PS.

I've got the HS one that is similar to the pacesetter copy. It is not that loud unless your gasket blows and slowly leaks...ie-mine right now. So, if you do some research you will find that the pacesetter is just an old HS Gen 1 or 2. Strapped on cash...do the PS one. I would suggest you buy the Pacesetter and just respray it with some ceramic paint to make sure it doest get all rusty and crappy looking like mine has. The New HS comes looking good.

I must say though, i have incredible things about the generation 5 header form hotshot. If you are looking for the most power, definatly go for the 5th generation.

Without a doubt HOTSHOT!!

If you just want some power at a cheaper cost, look for a Pacesetter
Or find someone who's selling their old HS header.

Use the gasket from a 2000 Sentra SE. The gasket is metal so it won't "blow out" or leak.

I did a Header Install write up in Club NX (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/club_nx/message/84) with pictures and links to my Dyno pulls with the Gen5 HS header.

wow..after looking at your page, I have come to the conclusion that the Stillen headers are crap compared tot he HS. You got 11hp more with the HS than with the Stillen???

Very nice numbers btw.

Yes everyone was surprised by the gain!
Darren (The owner of R & D Dyno Service) couldn't believe I got that with just a header swap.

My next HP mod will be the JWT ECU w/S3 cam program!

Surely that can't be accurate. Could it? I mean we all know the best header is the Hotshot and the Stillen isn't as good, but god 11hp over the Stillen, I didn't know a header even made 11hp, it's usually more like 10.

Same dyno, similar weather conditions... Only a few months apart. Only change was the header. I don't think the dynojet could be that screwy.

Funny thing is, I'm only 2HP shy of Dave Kerr's 96(?) 200SX SE-R.
And he has everything I have except the P/S Eliminator kit, but with S4 cams and the JWT ECU w/S$ cam program!
I think I'm even with Naji's car btw. Just don't tell him that. :p

now that it's on topic, can you post the part number for the gasket from the 2001 SE from the primaries to the block? and where can I get the gasket that goes between the primary and secondary, I have a Gen2 primary I think,

I don't have the P/N for the gasket on hand, but just order the gasket for the 2000 Sentra SE and you'll get the metal one.

The gasket that goes between the collector and the primaries is something you'll have to get from HS.

Hey Thomas, we're gonna have to get together again at Tev's house and you're gonna have to help me install my Gen5! Just picked it up from Motivational today.

Do you guys think I should wait to install the header until after I dyno the AEM. Or has someone already posted their dyno numbers for their AEM. If not, maybe I should wait so we can all see exactly what we can gain from the AEM.

I think you should wait and Dyno the AEM intake first. Then install the header.

Do you have any idea when we will be having our next dyno day? Or how mych it would be if I just went there. Its gonna be hard to just let my header just sit in the garage.:D

I must be the odd ball.

Just look at me, PlanoSER or his other Texas comrade with the white classic.

Im sorry but Im taking over the SE-R N/A crown here pretty soon.
I just need some pullies right now and to get rid of the darn P/S!!!

Not sure. July at the earliest. We have to give everyone the chance to do some more mods.

$100.00 an hour. That's R & D's regular price for Dyno time.

I must be the odd ball.
You said it!:p

I suspect the reason you're car is putting out those HP numbers is because of your JDM motor. I bet it's a 10:1 compression motor.

YES!!! IT IS JDM!!

Nothing like a lil competition.
