Were the lower oil pans different thoughtout the years for the Classics? I bought a used oil pan through a junk yard at car-part.com, and it won't fit on my '91 engine. I thought maybe a GA16 pan was sent to me by mistake, but it looks like theirs is one piece.
Anyway, just wondering if there are differences and perhaps everybody's database shows them as the same from '91-'94.

It might be a DET oil pan. How is it different? The GA16 oil pan is 1 piece. The DET lower pan looks the same, but is smaller.

There are actually quite a few different oil pans. The DET one is probably different as well, but among the DEs, there different shaped oil pans.
Did you buy it because yours is dented up? If so, you can get a hammer, and fix it.

Weird -- my "new" pan is smaller and the area near the drain plug is shaped differently. How would I get a DET oil pan from some ol' junk yard in Virginia?
The oil pan on my racecar has a slight dent in it. I tried whacking it with "slugger" (the nickname for a BFH), and it didn't do anything but chip paint on the inside of the pan.
I don't think the oil pickup point will be affected, so I'm just going to drive with it as is until I can dig up the right oil pan.

Be careful, dont let the pan get too dented, this is what killed my old engine. It was dented to hell, and it was blocking the oil pump from recirculating the oil back to the block.
