What about this setup:

1. Used JDM SR20DE
2. NX Wet Direct Port Kit
3. Progressive Controller
4. Window Switch
5. Fuel Pump
6. Badass clutch

Think one could get away with a 250 shot? :D

The set up sounds good but............. I think if you are lucky it may do one complete run!! Nitrous is a scary thing. Respect it and it will be your best friend!! ;)

i'm just curious how much nitrous a sr20de can handle. i've seen several guys running over 100 shot totally stock. never cracked the heads. who knows :)

Probably better off with a USDM SR20 because of the lower compression when going with such a big shot of juice. I was toying with the idea of doing a progressively controlled setup myself. We'll see thought.

But nitrous loves that high compression :D
I just wish those damn progressive controllers weren't so expensive. Considering you can pick up a JDM SR20DE (less than 40k miles) for $250 + shipping, it might be a fun little project.

Operation: SR20DESTRUCTION  :D

Yeah nitrous love high compression, but make sure you have some control over spark advance. You simply don't need to run as much on nitrous as you would off the bottle.

What I suggest is a good ignition system with nitrous retard outputs like Holley's Annihiltor Strip ignition which also has two RPM switches so you can turn your nitrous on and off at a specific RPM.

Accel's 375+ does the same thing and so does MSD's Digitial SCI+

For the amount of retard needed, I would use NOS' recommendations, but move to a dyno for your final settings.

This would allow you to run advanced timing off the bottle too...

WIN-WIN...

I'm just curious what a stock SR20DE can handle really. I was reading the build up of the 8sec ecotec powered drag car, they basically took a stock engine, and pumped nitrous through it until it threw every rod (about 280whp if I remember correctly). I bet a SR20DE in good running condition, with good compression could pull off a progressive 250 :)

if you are using above 100 shot of nitrous, you would have to use a progressive controller, or make usre you dont use it in first! you sould blast through the redline and into the territory of a broken valvetrain in no time. Just imagine the wheelsspin with that much INSTANT power

Wheel spin isn't much worst with 75hp than it is with 100hp. 1st gear goes by quickly in any turbo or nitrous powered car.

Progressive controllers should be almost automatic if your serious about going quick with nitrous.

I agree about the progressive controllers. Especially at those power levels. At the very least a window switch though :)

I can't imagine being able to squeeze a ~250shot and getting traction at any speed below ~70 w/o a progressive controller :)
