My car is starting to not like the hot Florida weather. Are starters prone to heat? My car didn't hardly want to start this afternoon after stopping at the grocery store. I was close to home on the way from work which is a 20 mile drive. Once I got home, I let it sit for 4 hours went to start it, and it started just fine. I'm confused!

I'm pretty sure it's the original one that came with the car. It's 1 98.

Well that's 4 1/2 years. Here in Texas battery's don't like the heat at all. Can you swap a good one in to see what happen's.

Wow I have never heard of a battery lasting that long before..we usually change batteries every two years...maybe more often? I'm not certain, but I know its not 4-5 years...

just a thought, my brothers classic went thru 3 Alternators with the same battery, the final Alternator has lasted 5years now, but he has had the same battery since 1995, a Yellow Optima Battery,
they literally last forever,

My original battery was still going strong after 7 years. I changed it 2 years ago, however. Better to change while it still works, rather then have it die on you one day.
