: 400 gets me... is it worth it?
Sr20kidD 06-08-2002, 01:04 AM in socal, i know a guy that he'll do
from the header down pipe, full custom 2.25 stainless steel, flanges gaskets, cat, resonator and muffler mandrel bent includind T pipe for 400, what do you guys think.. cheap or pricey or good deal? maybe i can get him to bring it down lower if i get people to do exhaust work here...
let me know what you think of the price im thinking of redoing my pipping.
Serban 06-08-2002, 02:39 AM I recall Greg Perry getting a 3" mandrel bent exhaust, cat, and muffler for about $300. I think he did buy his own piping though, and it all came out to just under $300.
Sr20kidD 06-08-2002, 06:41 AM tru but he has turbo..hehe and i got 1.6 POWAH!!
anybody else??
focus 06-08-2002, 07:49 AM The price seems very good to me. If it includes the cat muffler etc you can't beat it. And you did state it was stainless. Go for it.
dougnosser 06-08-2002, 08:19 AM For what you are getting done, it's worth it. Why? Cause it's stainless steel and mandrel bent. Personally since it's underneath the car, aluminized steel will work just as good. This will bring down your costs alot and you can still get it mandrel bent.
Greg perry's wasn't mandrel bent or stainless steel.
Sentragtr20 06-08-2002, 10:23 AM You said you have a 1.6L?? Then dont go with a 3in. exhaust or you will lose powah!! Unless you plan to go turbo??
mpg9999 06-08-2002, 11:33 AM I seem to remember greg getting a crush bent, not mandrel.
Da91NX 06-08-2002, 11:36 AM If you have a 1.6 dont go bigger than 2 inch. You will lose power. @ inch is as big as you can go without losing power.

360 for a sr20 from k watanabe
SERprise In WV 06-08-2002, 12:49 PM $286 and some change, if you shop wisely. :D
Stainless (debatable), 2.0 inch, and mandrel bent is what you want for the 1.6, IMHO. Anything bigger is just that: bigger. Not necessarily better. I didn't go mandrel bent because, well, it's 3-inch. Which is huge.
Post up some pics when you get that puppy on. :)
Sentragtr20 06-08-2002, 02:32 PM No I had 21/2 inch pipe when I had my ga16det. But yet I had it before I went turbo and it ran fine, and it was crush bent.

i just saw this, i went with the 2 1/4 mandrel, came with all plus its stainless, since the wreck in my 94 GA, i have accuired a 2.0
so SR20kidD is in full effect now. hehe I put the pipping onto my 2.0. sweet thank god for 1.6 and 2.0 b13 being the same lengths and sharing lots of parts.
NismoNx2000 10-16-2002, 09:39 AM For the minimal power an exaust system will provide, I say get custom crush bent piping at meinekee, 2.25" (crush bent). Or your friendly neighborhood muffler shop. I spent 200 dollars on a muffler and piping, and that was over a year ago, the piping still looks brand new and i felt a decent gain with it. I say order up a pacesetter header for your 1.6 and maybe a cai. Together you will spend about 320 bucks or so, and you will feel much more power gain with those two mods, then doing the exaust. THis is just my opinion though.
AaroNX 10-16-2002, 10:22 AM Hey man he was reffering to his old post. He already had it all done.
