Well folks, the day has come! The DET is on its way in! So far, so good! Just a few problems:

1) How the hell do you remove the front bumper on an NX?? I've taken every bolt that the FSM says plus some, and it won't budge. (Or should I say "broke" every bolt):D

2) If you ever buy a BB DET, make sure the tranny is off!! I just spent over 3 hours trying to take that bad boy off and it was hell. Roughly 20-30 bolts hidden everywhere, behind brackets, under brackets, etc. And is it heavy?? DAMN!! Same weight as the engine I think!

Anyways, I'm taking a lot of pics and will post them when the beast runs. I'll keep everyone posted on the progress!

good shit, im sure you will enjoy it when it runs.
I tried to take the bumper off too and when i broke the first 2 bolts i said forget it.

When you took the PS and AC off did you notice *** car was faster?
Also how do you adjust the tension on the belt when the PS pulley is gone?
good luck, hopefully we will see it on the 20th!!!

I haven't run without A/C or P/S yet since the DET is not in yet. What I'm doing is recirculating a hose on the P/S so the bearing won't seize, so I will be running the pump, but not the actual p/s.!!

The beast should be done Sunday the 16th!(hopefully)

some dude with a VE is in town doing a dyno I think.

That's right. It's Jim Schumacher from Rochester NY, and he's put an SR20VE into his 1994 Classic SE-R. Yoshio, a local chip tuner is going to be tuning it.

We'll meet at the dyno, try not to get in the way, and then head out for food and entertainment afterwards :)

It has its own thread in the north forum, I'll update that when more details are finalized.

Wel, the DET is bolted up, just need to hook everything back up and put the driveshafts back in, and reattach the bumper. Hopefully all that will be done tonight so I can get an exhaust fabricated Saturday so I can drive to work monday quietly.

I'll bring the car and the VC and TB up then too if you want?? What time is the meet anyway? I work until 5 in Cambridge so I won't be able to be there until at least 6.

I got that much work done on it because I took 1 week off work to do it. Have put close to 50 hours of work into it!:D

All Done!!!!!!!!!

She runs good except for 1 thing:

My friend blew up my BB ECU!

He hoked up my tach wrong and it fried the ECU. I now have to spend an extra $300 for another ECU asap but am currently running the DE ECU but not driving under boost, so don't worry, everything will be fine. She actually runs perfectly with the DE ECU!

I didn't do the bearings. I changed:

spark plugs
rotor
cap
driveshafts
clutch
thermostat
Motul Gear Oil
Castrol Syntec 5W30 motor oil
oil filter
motor mount inserts
ECU (if I didn't blow it up, getting a new one this week)
ball joints
custom exhaust fabricated from downpipe to cat for now
