Anyone know where I can get flexpipe for my 93 SE-R, beside dealer or Courtesy?? Was wondering where the loud noise came from. Think about just replace the whole thing with a header, but wanna check out alternative first. Thanx.

You can find a stainless one at any muffler shop or in Jegs or Summit. I think it's 2". You will notice that the factory one is really restrictive inside. Don't bother. I still have my factory one with a fairly new stainless flex pipe. I think I had it replaced about 1 year ago. I put the Gen4 Hotshots on.

Flexpipe can be quite expensive, I was quoted $150 for one at a muffler shop. Maybe the guy was just on crack or somethin, but that seems kinda high. You're better off just getting a header.

I know they're expensive. I got quoted $230 for my old 95 Escort GT!!!! One more question which I think I know the answer already. I'm planning to use the Pacesetter ceramic coated header. This will replace the flex pipe, correct?? Thank.

Try http://www.stainlessworks.net/Clamps%20and%20Flex%20Joints.htm they have them invarious length for less than $50. The 2 inch ones should work fine.

I just replaced mine on my 93 on Thursday. I got it from a local muffler shop---Monro Muffler. It's stainless steel and was $81.95 with a 2.25 opening on either end. They ran 2.25 piping from there to my 2.25 Dynomax cat and then 2.25 piping to my Dynomax resonator and then 2.25 piping to the muffler. Charged me $260 for the entire setup, including the flex pipe---I brought the cat and the resonator. To bad the screwed it up and it rattles like hell.

Oh well---gave me a nice inprovement on the highend and sounds very, very deep.

You might want to check with www.Stranoparts.com. They carry direct fit bolts made by Bosal. This would be the down-pipe from the exhaust manifold to the cat, including the flex-pipe. Then you might be able to just replace the whole section instead of cutting out the old flex and welding in the new.

Just a thought.
