I'm kinda workin on something to possibly strengthen third gear in our cars and i was wondering if anyone has anypics of third after its failed.

I have an engineeer buddy of mine that would like to look at them to see what the failure mode is so we can kinda work on the problem from there.

Even better than that would be if anyone has an actual set of shafts they would be willing to ship to me (I would pay shipping) that thye dont care about anymore.

third gear fails too now!? sweet lord! my second gear has already crapped out and been replaced, so i guess third is next and then 5th. i hate nissan. i think i'm going to buy a honda and not have to worry about a transmission. maybe then i'll be able to spend my money modifying the car, instead of rebuilding a gear or two. ;)

Unless you start makin some serious power or start bangin some gears real hard, I doubt you will be breakin third gear any time soon.

Well I disagree here. I broke my 3rd gear N/A. Granted I have an ACT clutch but still. Rob has also trashed his N/A. When mine went there were a few other issues that added to it, but still it's not that hard to do.

As far as pics go, what would you like? I still have my blown tranny sitting at my house. I was planning on taking it apart to get a look for myself but if there's anything I could assist with I'd be more then happy to. Drop me a e-mail, Matt4Nissan@aol.com

BTW I figure if anyone is willing to share.... Those that already have included..... then i will share the secrets with them. Personally i don't really need a stronger tranny at the moment but it would be nice not to have to worry about it.

So if anyone else is interested let me know. (post here prefferably)

Not to mention the fact that if you come up with a technically sound solution, you could market the idea to the community. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that would consider paying for a solution to this problem.
