: most powerful n/a non-jdm engine se-r???
KikoSanchez182 06-09-2002, 08:07 PM hey, most of you guys have a jdm spec engine. but i *accidentally*>>kikosanchez = idiot<< bought a usdm spec engine from jgy, so i was wondering how much power is to be had from i/e/h/pullies/s3's from a usdm engine???
how much power are you other usdm engine guys making?
please share
Crono1321 06-09-2002, 09:02 PM I think Rob's engine is usdm...not sure though. He has something like 157hp and 140ft-lbs? Not sure on the numbers, but I know its around there somewhere. he is N/A and has an early 90's sentra. I'm sure someone will pop up here and give his real numbers.
Serban 06-09-2002, 10:04 PM He's got 157hp and 134tq. The engine is JDM, but has the USDM intake manifold with the emissions stuff on it.
andris 06-09-2002, 10:06 PM if you're talking about rob cadle, its more around 170 hp.
Crono1321 06-09-2002, 11:42 PM We are talking about Se-Rican. Who is rob cadle? Not to be rude, just curious.

Rob Cadle is ClassicSE-R, moderator in the turbo forum. He did a lot of the testing with JWT on the C-series cams.

andris 06-09-2002, 11:56 PM Mike Kojima's green car is also in the 170's. I think there is also another car on the east coast somewhere that was maybe around 180? anyone know?

Crono1321 06-10-2002, 12:12 AM I forgot about Mike's car...never heard of a 180hp beast! Wouldn't that be an accomplishment? N/A with more power than a V6...well most anyway.
ThomasSr20 06-10-2002, 12:39 AM 170-180WHP???
Is that without touching the Block??Or PortPolish??
Crono1321 06-10-2002, 12:44 AM I would imagine you would have to have some major headwork done with all this power. Port and polish everything you can think of..
Bowlcut 06-10-2002, 12:56 AM uhhh yea....Mike's car has DPR headwork if i remember right, that or JWT. But Clyde(Rob C.) doesnt have head work and put down some mighty numbers with those C series cams. Mike's has everything you could possibly do to a sr20 like 3 or 4 years ago. I dont believe the green monster has had much work done to it since then, well nothing major.
180 to the wheels might be possible in this day and age with like some c-series cams, the cool ass intake manifold from big boost, some serious head work, pistons, coolers, all the bolt ons, removal of power steering, removal of AC, removal of water pump for electric, under drive alternator, that sweet dual disk clutch setup, super light weight flywheel, then all the tuneing andeas and mike could ever imagine of put on the car. still would be streetable and id guess some high numbers from all this. then again you would be dropping so much money into the motor it wouldnt be funny. then all that tuneing time for the cams, then the ignition, dear lord. I guess if you want to get into a pissing contest/dick waving, it might be cool, but id rather just turbo. oh well its all speculation these days cause very few people are wanting to throw that much money at a DE instead of just doing a swap.
ThomasSr20 06-10-2002, 01:18 AM I am not too far from tonching the Bottom and some headwork.
Already spend good amount of money on my motor already.
KikoSanchez182 06-10-2002, 01:57 AM so, usdm engines will make just as much power from mods?? in the end they will just make around 8hp less than a jdm would make?

In the end is subject to interpretation. If you mean end as in what Andreas is currently working on. The I don't think JDM or USDM will make any difference. What I'm referring to is punched out block SUPER high compression pistons, intake manifold, etc.. the list goes on and on and on..
Now if you're referring to just a few minor bolt on's such as I/H/E/S3's it seems that you will gain a few extra hp from a JDM, but nothing too major. Rob (SE-Rican) and I are actually pretty close on hp numbers all motor and I have a 96 motor. He's about 7hp over my best figure, but that's when I was running 18" wheels, and just a muffler for exhaust. He also has pullies. So I think the difference between the two is very minimal. Build what you have. Hell at least you have a lowport :D
KikoSanchez182 06-10-2002, 06:30 PM well thnx for the replies!! i like what i heard
JimmyNX2000 06-11-2002, 12:50 AM actually if he has a 93 it would be a high port. hehe. im also wondering how much power is capable in a NA SR. im wanting a NA autocross beast. i think the best way for any normally aspirated engine is to increast the bore/stroke. but all the stroker kits are crazy ass expensive! i heard JWT is supposed to be coming out with one. so see what they will do and then there could be some changes in how much a NA sr20 can put out. nothing makes up for displacement.
