it has 120k miles on the original motor, stock everything, just changed oil and fixed exhaust leak. i need new motor mounts too due to the shaking engine upon starting the car and when letting off gas during acceleration. just want a before and after times before i start modding.

Why the hell not! I say go for it and let us know your time. I run with 110k on mine. :)
Careful of the wheel hop since you need new mounts.

I say don't go for it.

No matter what u do, don't go to the track with bad Mount.
very easy to mess something up.

i just want to ask somethign, i've had my classic for about four months now and it has 147k miles on it. I dont think anyone before me has replaced the motor mounts on it, but i just want to say that when i burnout i dont get any wheelhop whatso ever , and the wheel feels smooth too. Does anyone think this is a good or bad thing? should i get new mounts to be safe? how do i know if the mounts are good? or if they're aftermarket ones at that? TIA

only get mounts if you need them. If you can launch hard without wheel hop and you dont have movement in the shifter and no hesitation that I wouldnt just change them for the hell of it.

yeah thats what i was thinking too, i can only remember one time getting a little bitty wheelhop, but thats about it, I like burning rubber a lot too, but i have to stop because now my car is sitting in my back yard with a pair of torn up kumhos awaiting my RE730's i ordered from costco.

go for it, i have 250,000 plus on my engine and the shit still moves fast down the track. i did the polyeurethane fill in thing fo rth mounts since one was ripped and now the engine doesn;t move. only replace em if u need to. now go, and proceed to kick butt.

I agree. Get the mounts replaced if you already know that your engine is rocking bad enough that you can feel it.

Plus, you will probably be able to get better times with a solid acceleration from little to no engine movement.
