Well driving around, found an 03 red spec v with 50k on it.

After talking with the oh so typical salesman, he eventually begs me to trade my 98 in
and go from $16k no trade in to $10k with my car trade in

oh so tempting! hmmmm what cha think? :(

Umm...6K is good trade in value on your 98. Is your 98 paid for? I'd rather keep the 98, if it's paid off. No sense in having another bill. (Just my opinion.)

To each his own, though.

definitely try and get a lower price on the spec-v. got mine about 2 months ago for $11K with 44K miles, no trade in. Go into the dealership with a preappoved loan and be ready to walk out if they don't give you the price you want.

Or you can just let them have it their way and pay $10 for the car, and give up your old car too

Am I going to be the only one to talk you out of it?

SR20>QR25

The 02-03 had numerous issues with various recalls.Stick with your B14.

I also think 16k is too much foe a spec v, even after the trade in for your b14 it is 10k. Try to talk the salesman down to at least 10-12k for the car alone with no trade-in.

oh btw sr20de>qr25de;)

lol, I know the price is high, I was supprised they guy kept saying "what if I can make it ...xxx would you be interested.."

Naw not getting rid of mine, yeah it's paid for, just funny how he kept going down to probably as low as it can get before not making money.

Lesson learned... when buying a new/used car, pretend you have no money and they will lower your price! Oddly enough I got my moms car that way too!

KEEPING THE SR20!!! Soon to have a "t" at the end... :) Just need a few more things then ALOT of time to put it all together

you could have the cake and the icing, just get the sales dude to lower the price to $10K straight up with no trade in. Wait it out, these cars aren't in demand.

that is way way way too much for that car. I bought an 03 spec new for that price.

For a lower price, $9,700.00, you can get a 2005 Spec V (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-Nissan-Sentra-SE-R-Spec-V_W0QQitemZ290116111020QQihZ019QQcategoryZ6401QQrd Z1QQcmdZViewItem) with only 27,080 miles.

Good thing you kept your B14... because I've seen '03 Spec V's for around $6k on ebay...

I wanted to buy one back in August, they were around $12k at that time, but then I bought my SE-L, couple months later I noticed most Spec V's went down to $7k. My take is, people realized what crap they are and will all the recalls, so they started selling while that pos is still running...

But I will say that I do like the way 02-03 SE-R's look :biggthump

I think a normal SR20DE would feel a bit week, since the car is bigger, so an SR20VE swap FTW! :biggthump

Yes your right, but look at the 0-60's....

B15 0-60: 8.6 Seconds. Source (http://www.edmunds.com/used/2000/nissan/sentra/9585/specs.html)
B14 0-60: 7.8 Seconds. Source (http://www.edmunds.com/used/1999/nissan/sentra/11489/specs.html)

if you're talking about swapping a qr out of a spec-v that would be retarded, the easier thing would be to get a b15 SE w/pp and just change the front bumper and wheels.
