Hi, who has installed unorthodox pulleys on a turbo motor, and have dynoed to see what kind of HP gains they got ?
Were can you get the pulleys at a good price.

I was under the impression that they gave sort of minimal power gains, but incredible drivability gains. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...

They claim around 10 hp crank. I don't believe this is true. I think it is more of a mod that helps your engine rev quicker and cuts some of the lag out caused by accessorie pull. Kinda like a light flywheel.
Not to mention they are NOT balanced like the stock oem one. What i mean by this is they are lighter than stock and the stock one was heavier for a reason: balancing the crank.

I was under the impression that our motors were almost perfectly internally balanced from the factory. I don't believe we have any sort of harmonic dampener on our car at all. I think the stock one is heavy because the cast piece is cheaper than a machined aluminum one.

You know, people are going to argue about this for decades to come, but here's what I know: Some believe that all L4 engines are naturally balanced; I don't know what this means, so I don't subscribe. Mike Kojima says that we have nothing to worry about harmonically by removing the stock harmonic damper. ...Which is indeed a harmonic damping device (uses rubber isolators) on some SR20s.I'm not worried, 'cause Mike told me not to be. :D

I run the 2 set UR pulleys on my DET. Haven't had one single problem whatsoever. I would imagine they would give at least the dyno-proven 6hp that Mike Kojima found. Plus, I have the added insurance of keeping my water pump from cavitating.

Oh, and I really do believe they help spool up. The pulleys, combined w/ my Zex flywheel, get the turbo spooling quick! If I floor it in 5th gear and 1800rpms, I have positive boost. ;)

Hey, thanks for the input, if any one else would like to add to this, please do.
