Check out my idea of the Ulitimate Track Car! This is as serious as a B13 gets I think. I've done everything I can think to do to this thing but turbo. The car can't quite hang in that class handling wise. I'm sure it would be a blast to try though. Check it out:

This is the motor from hell. 11.7:1 compression, S5 cams, ported & polished head and the exhaust system of the gods. This thing flys. Check out the valve lift:

Love that shot! You can check out the entire build and the life story of the car here:

really very nice. any problems with valve/piston interference? are you using adjustable cam gears?

Nice car. Nice build. I think you should just go ve. Any reason why you have not? Also I notice you keep using S5. I have not heard to many good things about them. You think maybe the s5 had anything to do with your problem with the head?

Currently my problems have been a weak oil pump, an install problem and some valve float. The S5s are fine. They are just really big. If there's any minor problems they tend to wipe out the valve train. They are making huge hp. I'm putting another motor together right now with all the bugs worked out. I'm using JWT race springs so I won't float another valve. I've got a brand new oil pump. I'm working on building a full flow oil cooler setup. I'm pretty sure this one should live. I'm still building DEs cause I don't want to deal with the engine swap ruling in PT.

There are no valve clearance problems. I'm currently just getting the thing right with the cams straight up. As soon as it's dependable I want to start tuning the cams. Kojima says that with this setup closing the lobe centers makes more hp up top.

Re: The engine swapping rule, wouldn't a ~$1,200 VE make similar power to your built DE and cost less in the long run?

I don't know for sure. The fact that I have all the DE stuff keeps me doing it this way.

In performance touring you get classed higher for engine swaps. This man knows what he's talking about. Question what are the mods to get 11.7 Compression?

Also if you blow a ve your out over 1k. You blow a DE you salvage what you can and go buy yourself a 300-400 JDM replacement.

Your the first one to get the point!!!! :biggthump
The current motor I'm building is more or less just costing a set of pistons and valve springs. I've got enough parts from all these other motors to put a good one together.

You get 11.7:1 from stock SR16 pistons and stock highport combustion chamber head and stock gasket.

Cause I've already bought 3 jdm replacements I've got plenty of spares to make more of these things.

Hmmm good to know your testing this setup out. I also want to try the sr16 setup. Are you running into detonation problems? Oil squirters or no oil squirters?

I was thinking that if i went this route I'd get some swaintech coatings on the top and sides . But if you can get away without the coatings then even better. I wish I knew completely how autech went about making this setup work in the autech silvia.

What are your power and torque numbers?

COol Car man. Oh and what PT class do all these mods bring you up to? I'd think you'd probably be at ptd or ptc

Currently I'm running 100 race gas. I've got a JWT chip and I'm running 25 deg timing. There's no detonation that I'm aware of. I'm using the stock oiling setup as far as the cams and pistons go. I don't have the power numbers as of yet. I haven't got my new ported and polished head back yet but as soon as I get all of that together I'm headed to the dyno. Currently I've still got this thing in PT-D. I am pushing it to the edge of C though.

Jon, i cant wait to see your numbers. Im almost considering going your route with cams as well...if my damn taxes ever get here, then i get to put the ITB's on.

I'm hoping to have this new motor together for next months NASA at Buttonwillow. It's coming together at the moment. I'm dropping off the parts to get balanced later today.
