Ok, I took off my old one and put my new one on, but in the process I lost some transmission fluid and unfortunately some got all over my new sensor and even on the casing of the connection that needs to be plugged in. I'm not too worried about the wires since they are sealed and covered in plastic, but what about the metal connection that needs to be inserted? Will anything bad happen if I plug it in and it has some oil? I did my best to clean up the inside with a rag and the casing, but didn't think to clean the inside with a Q-Tip to get in there until after I plugged it in and started the car.
Thanks for the info!!

I don't think you're going to be in too much trouble, but I would get some compressed air, and try to blow out any left behind residue, if possible. I don't think it's really conductive, so you shouldn't have to worry about shorting anything, just need to make sure you have a good solid connection, is all.

I forgot to mention that after I disconnected it once the car was running I did use a Q-Tip and it seemed like it hardly had any oil on it if any. If I did short something out would I know? What might short out? The ECU, Neutral Position Switch and the Harness that it gets plugged into are the only things I can think of and the car still runs and accelerates fine. I still have the CEL, but I think I'll reset it later on today to see if the code returns.
Thanks for the help!!
