Can i use NGK G power platinum plugs or do i have to stay the the normal one's? Dose it matter that my timing is advanced?

I have been running NGK BKR6E-11s copper for ever with advanced timing. Saves money, you just have to change plugs more often.

IK22's right now but switching to NGK iridiums soon

I see no point in using the iridium or the platinum when you get the same response from the coppers for a fraction of the cost of either of the other two.

longer life, less resistance = less strain on ignition system to spark, but thats probably just me, maybe i just have the money to spend on it.

So will it hurt the motor to use platinum plugs, because i alredy havr them and i was told it wold make the car run shitty.

So do u think the g power's would make the car run shitty?

hurt the motor or make it run shitty -- no. Nissan recommends platinum spark plugs for the de. im dont know what they recommond for the det but im sure they will get the job done, almost any plug will work fine with the proper gap and heat range. they might not last as long , but hard driving can affect that also.

The only reason the platinums are recommended is to extend the service interval.

longer interval is good for me.

I believe NGK platinums came standard on the SR20.

I'm using NGK iridiums. Good plug.

Your right they did. People normally dont want to spend that much on Plugs so they move to copper after they tune the car up.

Im Running Iridiums also And I like them. I havent pulled them out to look at them since I dropped them in though. The only reason Im running them is cause I got a four pack of them for $10. My DET will see coppers and they will be replaced every two oil changes...

Yes, factory plug was platinums on the DE and DET's. However, the iridium plugs came out after platinum technology and are a much newer/advanced design.

Iridium lasts up to 50,000miles in some cases so if you work out the cost of coppers and your time to replace spark plugs every 6000 miles, iridium is definitely cheaper

The rating they give you about how long they last isnt what you should be looking at. That rating is for cars that dont get pushed to redline all the time. Yeah they will last longer then coppers probably. But id never leave them in the car 50k miles.

...but copper plugs being exposed to hi-rpm constantly will still wear quicker than iridiums.

hence i use iridiums ...

Use any NGK product you want, just dont use Bosch or splitfire, or any other plug for that matter, they're not designed for our motors, and dont have the correct heat range.

I took a chance with the G powers once. I took them out after I gained almost a second at the strip. NGK single or double platnum. FTW!
