I would go with a 195/50/14 if possible.

Why? 195/50 is nearly an inch smaller than the stock 185/60.
195/55 is much closer. Unfortunately, in that size, you've really got a choice between a Dunlop SP8000 and... a Dunlop SP8000... There aren't many low profile 14" tires anymore... Sigh.

The shorter the sidewall the less give it will have, meaning sharper turn in feel.

I've posted this link dozens of times, and here it is again
http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/tire.html
Put in your stock size, the maximum width and diameter of tire you're looking for, how close you want the speed to read and let the calculator do the rest. The cool part is that when you click on the tire size in the results window, it'll link right to TireRack and display all the tires available in that particluar size.
FYI - in 14" the closest thing available in a street tire to stock size is 195/55/15. If you're looking at 15's, 195/50/15 is just about perfect, and allot of guys run 205/50/15

I think he means 195/50/15. There are no tires in 195/50/14 size that I know of.
Stock: 185/60/14
15: 195/50/15
16: 205/40/16
The 15" and 16" are as clsoe as you can get to the stock rolling diameter for the Classic.
I have 185/60/14 street tires and I run 205/55/14 Kumhos on track and in ~ 1 hour I'll have 205/50/15 Falkens for autocross. If I did not autocross, I'd get the S0-3 in 195/50/15 size. Fantasic tire, fantastic price from Tirerack, better in the rain than the Azenis and closer to the stock rolling diameter so your speedo won't be all fooked.
Okay simple question here.
Fill in the blank please.
A 205-50-15 is _______ inches wider than a 195-50-15.
What are we talking about guys? Like 1/2" difference?
I will be getting 15" Subzeros as soon as Cosmic gets some in. I do not autocross. I'm a drag fiend. I do however like to keep my options open and clear freeway on-ramps are fun.

A 205 is 10mm wider than a 195. The first number of a tire size is width in millimeters. The second number is aspect ratio, which is sidewall height. So a 195/50 has a sidewall height of 195 x .5 = 97.5mm, a 205/50 has a sidewall height of 102.5mm (did that one in my head ;)). So the overall height of a 205/50 would be 10mm taller than a 195/50. Wider is better, but changing the overall height from stock will throw your speedometer off. Also, not all tires with the same size are the same size. For instance, 205/50-15 Falken Azenis are WAY bigger than most other 205/50-15's.

That's what I'm running. The SO-3s have are simply mind-blowing in the rain. On the way to this year's Convention, I was able to hit triple digit speeds through a hellacious rainstorm in Oregon, without any drama.
Awesome on the street, quiet on the freeway (compared to other performance tires I've used), and a great price from the Tire Rack.
I love 'em!

Then you need 195/50/15s instead of 205/50/15. Call Tirerack immediately and buy the Potenza S0-3 Pole Positions, you will not be dissapointed.
