There will be no problems. Try and find a U hose when you do it.

Could a guy put in valves to that he could bypass the heater core only when we wants to and then later on just turn the valves back so that it's not bypassed? Dumb question here, why bypass it in the first place, unless of course it has gone bad and you're not wanting ot replace it right now, or ever.

IMO, there are no real benifits to bypassing the core unless you plan on removing it for weight savings. I'd advise against it for a number of reasons...

First, unless you never plan on using the heater core again, bypassing the core for any amount of time will result in damage to the core. Without the occassinal flow of coolant the core will corrode and any coolant left within the core will turn to sludge.

Second, if you are an occasional track racer, using the heater as a suplimental radiator (heat on hot and fan on high) is an excellent method for assisting the radiator when coolant and engine temps are high.

i have no use for the heater core i live in a tropical climate, but using the core as an extra measure for dissippating heat, is a good option, but then again if i have to do that with normal driving, something else must be wrong with my car...maybe i'll just leave it connected until the heater core starts to leak....then pull that sucker...the top hose already blew 5 days ago, and right now i'm just running on a cutdown and reinserted hose...
