What all is likely to need to be replaced if I were to convert me GA16 to an SR20? I'm trying to figure out what will save me the most money. I'm either gonna do the conversion like I have talked about doin since I joined, or just sell my SE and get an SE-R?

Are there any good SR20DE vendors in the area that can get me the motor reasonably cheap? Or am I going to have to ship it?

TALK TO JAMES VICK HE CAN GET YOU A MOTOR FOR A REAL CHEAP. IF I WERE YOU I WOULD JUST GO WITH THE 11/1 JDM MOTOR.

Ben, when is that thing gonna be running? How many years has it been now? ;)j/k I have been waiting very patiently to take a ride in that thing.

By the way, are you going to be at that Austin meet on the 22nd?

What are some advantages/disadvantages between the classic SE-R and the 200SX SE-R? I know I can get the classics cheaper, but is there much of a difference in performance? As of right now I am think about going with a 95 or 96 200SX SE-R. I personally like the looks of those better than the classics, but looks are a minor detail. i'm all about performance...

THE CLASICS THAT INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENTION AND I THINK THERE LIKE 200 LBS LIGHTER. IF YOU ARE LOOKING JUST TO MAKE A CAR GO FAST THAT BUY A CLASSIC I WISH THAT I HAD INSTEAD OF A B14. YOU CAN FIND A CLEAN CLASSIC FOR LIKE 2000 BUX.

i say if you want to go really fast, go with an s13, s14 RWD.

Are you just looking for a regular ol' SR20DE?

Its going on two years now, but whose counting right? ;)

And if the meet is the one in the park off 2222, I probably won't be there. A friends b-day party is that night and we're either going to sugar's or having a party all day on the lake. As much as I love Nissans and you guys, its hard to pass up boobies! :D

Well it's looking like I am going to be trying to buy an SE-R instead of doing the swap. It's less of a hassle that way. But I am still trying to find some vendors in the area for a newer engine... like less than 50k on the engine/tranny. I'm wanting to rebuild that one from the ground up... tighter compression, bigger feul injectors, polished heads, etc. I want to tweak as much power out of just the engine as possible. By the time it is done, I am hoping to have something else for a daily driver i.e. G20/G35. So comfort wont be an issue. The end of that is a year or two off though...maybe more.

Why do you need a newer engine if you are going to build it up? You might as well use any engine then.

i'm thinking less strain already has been put on the block and trans case... i figure i would be less likely to throw a rod or something...b/c i know once i have it rebuilt she's gonna want to go all or nuthin. (not to mention me) :D but as is the case with just about anything, that is subject to change without notice... other than that, i can't think of anyother advantages

MY car was a swap from a GA16 to SR20. MY friends did it while I was at work one night.. Nismodriver here on the forum was there and he would be more knowledgeable about it that I am. I know there are a few wires that need to be redone but other than that it was pretty much and in and out procedure.

I've been swapped for over a year know trouble free.

Wow, you do have good friends. I got totally raped by the shop that did mine. They charged me for parts they didn't even use. How's that for service? They even used my old GA16 ECU!! (even though they had me pay for an SR20 ECU)
