hey guys,

I installed a Turbonetics manual boost controller, ob t25 bb sr20det. everything STOCK.

- and set it all the way to the lowest setting
- MBC is at the firewall.
- inlet of MBC is on intake, outlet is on wastegate.
- no A/F meter

took it for a spin, no vac leak , idles perfect.

Problem:
I start getting 12-13 psi, at 4k (I back off then)
I haven't pushed it farther for fear of leaning out and blowing up, but defnitely I should not be at this boost level for a minimum setting.
what can be going on here?
Any advice please?

btw, what boost level can the stock 370 cc on stock BB program handle, before having to richen the fuel curve?

Thanks!!

the stock connection. (intake to wastegate). it's right before the throttle body.

double check to make sure the connections are tight then try swapping it around and see if that works...

yeha.. they tight.. AND I swapped them around. still 12-14 psi!

the tap-in is right under the BOV, i.e. the stock location.

if you take off the MBC completely its boosting normal 7 psi? If you haven't check that, that will tell u if your wastegate is operating properly.

You will get boost spikes with a MBC. Depending how long the hose is will depend on how much of a spike you get. How long is the hose you are running compared to the stock one? It doesnt take much to get a spike with that compressor wheel spinning as fast as it does :eek2:

maybe the hose is bad, and you got air leaking out... or you arent adjusting it the right way

- yeah.. it's normal without the MBC

- the hoses run an extra 3ft, so the MBC mounts to the firewall.

- the hoses are new. hoses are clamped on.

<shrugs> stumped!

That extra 3 ft could be your problem

I know some people who have it in the cabin. maybe the length would make it less effective, but not completely useless.
