: 75 wet shot on a 2001 SR20
NiceGuy 06-13-2002, 07:20 PM Well, I'm setting up a wet 75 shot on my 2001 SR20DE, but have heard that I shouldn't go above a 50 shot wet?
Also, I've seen the NOS Direct Port kit, would that be a better thing to do so I don't take the chance of running one cylinder lean?
I'm doing this in less than a week, and really need to know.
Thanks BTW.
Stephen
EvilSe-R 06-13-2002, 09:23 PM BLow It UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blow that motha. Then get a DET. Hahaha J/k Direct port is the bomb!! get that. Its sweet. run a dry w/JWT ECU you will be the best.
I'm running a 50 wet with no problems. I'd go direct if you can though.
jon3k 06-14-2002, 12:16 PM Direct port (wet) is definatly worth the money. I've got an NX wet kit, single fogger, but I've got a tapped manifold waiting for me to convert to direct port. I don't think you'll have any problem with a 75 shot, except you're going to go through your clutch pretty quick :)
NiceGuy 06-14-2002, 05:19 PM HEHE, my other mods are: clutch, S3 cams, HS header, Stromung exhaust, UR pullies, AEM CAI.
MagicPipes 06-17-2002, 06:29 PM Isn't a 75 shot getting close to the limits of the stock fuel pump?

Close - thats why I bought a 255lph fuel pump :D
I paid $119 but I found a place even cheaper:

I think its under $100
dj4monie 06-21-2002, 02:02 AM Your best chances of running lean are caused by dry nitrous systems. On newer Nissans if I remember correctly, the stock pump doesn't created enough pressure for more than a 55-60hp.
The only way I would run a dry kit on your car is to buy the JWT daughter board setup. But that cost too much..
I and you can get better results for less money by going with a Nitrous Express Import EFI kit.
You can pick up a kit for under $500 from www.nitrouswarehouse.com
You can pick up the kit and the GenX accessories package for under $800 total with shipping.
You wouldn't need to upgrade your pump until about 100hp or more I would think. But that's why you would use a fuel pressure safety switch that comes with the GenX package. If pressure drops too low, it shuts off the flow of nitrous.
If you have any nitrous related questions just e-mail me..
NiceGuy 06-21-2002, 10:42 AM I don't want to run a dry kit. I had just heard that a wet 75 shot wasn't safe on our vehicles b/c of pooling.

its *possible* with a single fogger, but i don't believe a direct port can/will puddle.

Its possible only with older NOS products....
There old fogger nozzles just don't atomize well enough and cause poddling if they haven't been mounted back far enough.
With an NX kit, just make sure it's 6-7" from the throttle body and you'll be just fine. You WONT get fuel puddling.
NiceGuy 06-23-2002, 11:21 AM I'm seriously thinking about having the NX kit converted to direct port.
With a 75 shot, there is no need for fuel pump upgrade, right?
I know with 100 shot, you need fuel pump, ignition, and timing retard?
Thrillseeker197 06-23-2002, 11:47 AM Ive heard/know of people running above a 75 squeeze without a FP, but if you got the cash I would go ahead and do it just in case. Better to be safe than sorry. The stock pump has to be close to topping out around 75-80 hp i would imagine.

thats exactly what i'm doing. greg already sold me his tapped manifold.
i already picked up a pump (walbro 255lph). At < $93 its worth the peace of mind :D

2000SR20 07-12-2002, 02:34 PM Buy the damned fuel pump. Spend the money and do it right. I particularly like dry setups, but that is just me. Either way, I wouldn't even attempt to install nitrous on any car, any HP level without a fuel pump. Its cheap insurance.
dj4monie 07-12-2002, 08:50 PM Dry it OKAY. The PROS don't prefer it, so that's MHO. I've installed both and got better performance with wet systems every single time.

Nevermind that you can get this same kit for LESS than any DRY kit on the market. Why do dry when you don't have too... And yes that's a 15lbs bottle.
NiceGuy 07-13-2002, 02:14 AM Well, my setup has been updated:
Direct Port 100 shot
Bottle Heater
Purge Valve
Walbro 255lph in tank
20 pound bottle
This will be in addition to every other bolt on that is out for my car.
ThomasSr20 07-13-2002, 03:26 AM Are u running 100shot dry setup which is JWT or Wet setup???
NiceGuy 07-13-2002, 03:40 AM I'm sorry, direct port wet 100 shot.
2000SR20 07-15-2002, 08:12 AM With the bottle heater, make sure you install a gauge to keep an eye on bottle pressures so that you don't spray with too high a pressure. This will effectively increase the HP level of you "shot" and could start damaging stuff. Also, see if you can locate a fuel pressure regulator. I think it was JCGator on B15sentra.net who had his bust while on the juice.
AND, lastly, make sure you post some times!!!!
