I've heard before about strengthening the clutch arm, but I'm still not sure exactly what is done. If anybody could give me the general idea, or point me to the info I need, I'd be grateful. Looks like I'm getting a stiffer clutch, and I'd rather only pull the transmission once. Thanks,
Jason

you cut and weld some 3/16 steel plate to the top of a 95+ arm is the best way. an earlier one works too but not as strong. the qwelds need to be good otherwise this process could make the arm weaker if done wrong. im sure its worth the 15-20 bucks a professional would charge. dont make the piece so long you cant get the cable on. and it should go all the way around the outside completely covering the factory weld. a little bit of grinding is needed to make it work right.

I did the same thing after mine broke when i put my act clutch in, which broke after 500 miles. The new clutch arm is working great. I cost me about 25 bucks. Just make sure that the person that is doint the welding knows what the are doing.

I just cryoed mine. Has held up against a shyte 3 puck, non-sprung hub, double diaphragm clutch setup. Don't let anyone take you like I was. This setup is not in anyway a street setup. Some right tart in Ft. Lauderdale (not Andre, he's a top bloke) sold me this shyte some years back at $450+ and I ended up throwing it on a shelf at the local auto shop. I'm not saying any names, but in person I do. Now after years of research, I know what works for what app and what tends to be shyte. So about the arm, it did not break. Just an idea.

Cool. Thanks guys. Cossie, I'd love to cryo everything, but I need to be able to do this in a weekend. However, I am going to file this info for future use. I have a feeling I may need it one day. Maybe it's time to start looking at a spare parts stockpile. ;)

I hear you on the stock pile idea. I have parts tucked away every where. Once in a while the local dealer gets a bad trany. I have been thinking about collecting a few. I have rebuit a few now. I would stick with www.onecryo.com if you go with cryoing.
