This last weekend a friend was riding with me during an autocross run. He commented that the sound of an SR20de driven with fury is the best 4 cylinder engine he's ever heard. And he drives an E30 M3. I have to admit that one of the main reasons my car see's the redline so much is how it sounds! Sweeeet!

I agree, i've had a couple compliments. Definatly didn't expect anyone to compliment the sound of my 4cylinder :D its a deep sound, unlike most buzzy 4cyl's.

When I dragged for the first time, a bunch of DSM guys (12 sec GSX's) watched me go down the track and they all commented how mean the car sounded as I went by....SR20DE Powa! Can anyone give me an idea what turbo will sound like? I will be finished in a year, so I gotta wait to hear that!

Wow that's crazy my friends all say the same thing. It *does* sound different than most other four cylinders.

Jon3k, what kind of exhaust/ intake are you running? Mufflers? Headers? CAI? I'm plannign on getting an SE-R soon, and hopefully will be upgrading the intake and exhaust. I"m trying to stay away from the ricey sound so many people around here like. Damn those ricer civics! It's nice to know that the SR20 has a good sound, though I figured it would since my GA16 sounds pretty good also...

I must say the Greddy exhaust that I bought off of Terrin has a nice deep sound, and with the WAI combo makes for a nice growl! :D

i must agree. these cars are a great getaway from the high pitched sounds of most 4 cylinders. it's nice to know that a sickening deep tone is just a muffler away on my car. a couple guys around here have said that my car just sounds deadly with my cold air intake installed. it's so, so loud, and so deep it's not even funny. i think it scares some people, actually. lol

This girl was riding in my car for the first time adn when I hit full throttle, she said "It sounds like its going to eat me". Nothing like the sound of an SR20 above 7k

Now it could be the fact that I haven't driven my se-r in over a year due to the engine failure (hydrolock). But I think the honda B18C5 sounds very sweet for a 4 cylinder. My se-r will be rolling just as soon as it is street legal so I'm sure my opinion will change ;).

Sup Serban,
That was a pretty cool clip. Just curious of where did you film that at. Just asking because I also live in the ft.lauderdale area now. That is a nice isolated area there. :)

Cool, are you planning on going to the dyno next saturday? I will try to drive down with Thomas but maybe us 3 can ride down together. The one thing I'm hopeing is that my clutch holds up because it's about time that I get a new one. :)

I remember reading something in SCC about them stating how they all loved the sound of a Sr20de. They were doing a project Neon, and kept referring to how it almost sounded like one.
