Hi Guys,

I have a few more pic's of my baby...
Some of the pic's are not the best cos of the light + Yahoo also decreased the size and quality of the images.
(anyone knows of a free hosting site that will display the true/full size images)

PS. The color of the car is Artic white.

The engine is a 10:1 compression.

Could someone please maybe confirm from this pic that it is a high port engine. I was told that the throttle will be below the valve cover for the highport and that is the way it is.

(Yes, I know the wiring looks a bit untidy)

Thats's all for now
Hope your'll find it cool.

Thanks Man,

I hoped that there would have been few others.
Anyway, I guess there loss is my gain.

I found this forum while seaching for info on the engine.

There are a lot of friendly people on the forum and I like that.

I just wish that we could have the stuff that you guys get for our cars down here. We have to import performance parts if we want them.

Request: For those of you that may have seen the pics above, if you have come accross a car similar to mine, could you please let me know, I am trying to find cars similar to mine. I would like to have a look and the body kits and how they look.

I would really appreciate a reply if you have come accross it.

Thanks guys,

Yup! You are correct. That is definitely a high port SR20!

I could be wrong, though.

Hello guys,

So I guess it is reply time.....

ok, short Nissan Sentra history down here in South Africa.
The 93/94 release Nissan Sentra resembles the Nissan Pulsar from Australia a bit, but it is actually called the Nissan Sabre in South Africa. I know it sounds confusing but that is what happened with the cars.

In 98 Nissan South Africa released the new Nissan Sentra shape which happens to be the car that I have bought.

I would have suspected that the car would have been in Australia as well but didn't have a luck finding it. I found only the Nissan Pulsar. Our bonnet, headlamp and fog shields are imported from Australia.

-------

About what it is like in South Africa:
It is cool. We do have problems but so do other countries.
About cars and laws, it gets better. The speeding fines and expensive but when it comes to performance, there are no restrictions on what you can or can't have on a car. You can modify it as much as possible with no one to bother you. Just don't get caught with Nitrous in your car without a licence to have it near an illegal street race, then you are in trouble.

Unfortunately when it comes to Nissan we don't get performance parts, that is the only downer.

Till later dudes,
Chow

Hi,

So from the no response, I am guessing that I am the only guy from South Africa and that my car's shape was produced in South Africa only since it doesn't seem like anyone that has seen this post has seen anything like it any where else.

Anyway, at least I got a similar engine.

That's all from me......

Hey man

Hey There,

Welcome aboard. Nice to see more people from SA joining.
I see that a few guys tried to start a nismo website here but everytime I check it up it is still being worked on.
I emailed them as well but no reponse.

I did change the bumper a little while ago but didn't get any pictures yet. I bought it from AutoStyle. It was more of a prototype bumper. Put it on the car and I like it, I think it looks cool. I am waiting for the pic's from them. They were supposed to be up on their website as I was the first person to put the bumper on the car.

Hey, I just sent the car in for a dyno today, results are in the general section.

Thanks Mate!

I also think that the SA version looks awsome!! ;)

Might Sound like a stupid question but what is the diffrence between a high port and a (i assume) low port?

looks sweet!

btw - does anyone know where to get those huge subwoofer 'brackets - as you might call them' to protect the subs?

I didn't know what it was as well.
Check out the thread : Here (http://www.sr20deforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29553&highlight=high+port+vs+low+port)

There are quiet a few thread on the site about it and comparisons that guys are posting and debating about. It is best to read a few and to come to your own conclusion. Run a search on "high port vs low port" and check them out. Be prepared for something like 250 posts where those words appear. Happy reading.

The guard for the sub's:
Can't help with that. We get them sold here locally at some of the sound/hifi shops.

Hey,

if you are referring to my car, it was a puma sticker, not APC.
Wanted something different and something you won't forget when beaten ...lol...

The sticker is off the car at the moment, looking for a better graphic.

This is what it looked like but the it looked better in plain black with the white background of the car. Parts of the dark grey parts were cut away to give it a better design:
