Unfortunately, I don't have $500.00 to throw away on an exhaust. So, I have searched many posts and still torn between the both please enlighten me(possibly dynos). The car will be used with bolt-ons currenty and possibly nitrous at a later date.

Sounds like me, strapped for $$$ If I had it to do all over again I would just go with a custom exhaust with mandrel bends. You can order the bends in Summit I believe. Take it to a exhaust shop and have them put it together. As far as mufflers I would go with a Glasspack,( non-louvered) and then another muffler.
Owe yeah I would also reccomend 2.25 inch piping

poll: dynomax or magnaflow
Either. I consider them to be pretty equivalent. NismoPC has a magnaflow and I have a dynomax ultra-flo. They both sound good and pretty quiet (we have 18-19 inch muffler cans to keep it quiet)

Yup! I had a 2.25" in/out Borla Turbo, which had a great sound to it, but droned pretty bad after installing the header. The length was only 14" and the can was 4" x 9". The Magnaflow I replaced it with is all stainless as well but is 18" long and has a 5" x 8" can.
Much nicer with little to no droning on the freeway.

I am more than happy with my setup. I have a cat in it which makes me feel better, but it includes a dynomax thrush 24.5" glaspack two 90 deg mandrel bends that run into the dynomax ultra-flo muffler. Beutiful sound on the stock manifolds, better sound with the old pacesetter but now I have the AEBS 4-1 header and will get installed as soon as I can. i think it wil sound just as fine with that under the car. My friend has the magnaflow ss muffler which sounds pretty good but not near the flow of the ultraflow I have on my car. I also ran 2.25" piping through the whole thing and it is great.

I have a Magnaflo cat-back on my Focus and love it. I was just going to order a Magnaflo for the NX and have a muffler shop do the rest.
Also they just tested a Magnaflo in SCC on a MR2 versus some very expensive systems and it out performed them all.

I have a Pacesetter header & cat-back, plus a Davico cat. It sounds great at idle and under easy throttle, but it gets an insanely annoying blatty sound under hard acceleration coming from the back of the car. I sort of think it might be a loose/broken baffle in the muffler as I can't imagine it's supposed to sound that way. Sounds awful. I love the power gains but I'm thinking I might replace the muffler with something else. Any comments?
