Hi gang, just a quick few tonight.
I have a 91 Sentra SE-R highport.
What is the stock theromstat temp? 170 F.?
What temp is the Nismo thermostat? 140 F.?
Does anybody know of any other "generic" brand, like Stant, that is as low as the Nismo one and will work in our cars?
TIA,

I once had a low temp thermostat from Hypertech. I think it was about a 140 degree unit. I might actually still have it in my car, not sure. I've replaced hoses often enough that I can't remember if I replaced the 'stat. However, on Hypertech's website, they do not list an application for Nissans.

I have a Hypertech right in front of me. It is a 160 Degree unit. No part number but it has a UPC number 759609000385. Ben gave it to me when I bought his NX haven't gotten around to putting it in yet.

I don't want to steal anybody's thread here, but I have another question:
There are two temp sensors on the engine: One for the gauge and one for the ECU.
There is one with a red connector and another simpler. Which one is the gauge sensor?
Thanks a lot!
I forgot to change it when swapping my DET and now the needle always reads "COLD" and makes a little noise it keeps touching the little stopper on the COLD side.

The sensor for the gauge is the single spade one. Hope this helps!
