ok im gettin pissed. i have a 1991 NX 2k and every once in a while the damn thing wont start. the radio will work so i know its not the alternator. plus the alternator is new. i got the battery tested but that turned out good. i changed the metal connectors that connect the wiring to the battery. but the damn thing still screws up here and there. i think it might be mainly when it rains but im not sure does anyone know what might be the problem so i can tell my mechanic?

This is a little off topic....but you live in Ewing?? I go to TCNJ there, work there, and live there during the school year. We should meet up sometime.

Is the motor cranking and just doens't wanna catch? Or is nothing happening at all? Anyway, I don't know if you've heard this one, but its been a common problem for a lot of people. Check your floor mats, if you have them. THey may be binding up underneath your clutch pedal, keeping your car from cranking at all because there is a little tiny switch that your clutch pedal arm has to depress before any current is sent to your starter.

If your car is cranking but just not starting...have you tried replacing your distributor cap & rotor, plugs, wires, etc? I know on my mom's VW, her car would hesitate to start and run like crap if it was raining.

Hope this helps.

Does it seem to do it more in the summer time, especially on nice hot days, then suddenly start just fine later that evening? If so, thats your starter going out. Don't replace it with an autozone special, use a genuine nissan one.

My car, also automatic, did the same thing. After trying many things, i found that cleaning the corrosion off of the starter terminals fixed it. Also, use a wire brush to clean the terminals on your battery too. Use some sort of lithium grease tp help prevent future corrosion. Hope this helps.
