Hey guys, just a few questions. I am looking to rebuild the motor out of the old race car since its my spare atm and wanted to know.

Is there any difference between fwd and rwd DET internals? Could I put a rwd crank in a fwd?

DET Cams from a bluebird SR, I assume they will fit in a fwd motor since to my knowledge they are the same motors but is there any advantage to them if I am converting the motor to a det?

Any difference in fwd and rwd DET injectors?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=200119508462&rd=1&rd=1

Could I use those on stock fwd det injectors?

and as far as the DET and DE block (cams, internals, valves, crank) what would be better recommended, to rebuild the motor to factory DE spec or DET spec? Car will only run 8psi, most likely never higher then that since it is a rally car and I doubt it will get much traction at 8psi haha.
Thanks for the help in advance

Ill try to answer a couple of those ?'s.

As far as the internals, there are only a few differeneces. One is the pistons. The DET has lower compression compared to the DE. The crank is the same. The cams are swappable but I dont know off-hand if there is a difference in the size of the cam.

There is no difference in the physical dimensions of the injectors as far as I know. But they are rated differently as far as how much they can flow.

This last part is my opinion. I would rebuild your motor to DE "spec" as far as compression goes. If it will only see 8psi, then you would most likely not benefit from the lower compression. With the higher compression, you will have a better low end, turbo will spool up quicker, and you will make slightly more power than at a lower compression.

Oh, btw, I believe all the turbo SR's came with piston squirters.
