Ever since I bought my 91 nx2000 a few months ago, I have never seen the radiator fan turn on. I've checked a few times after driving for a while and letting it sit and idle but I never see it come on. I've never had any overheating problems or anything near overheating but I'm just curious why I never the fan running. I've shorted the connectors where the fan relay is and the fan works, but I've never seen the fan start on it's own. Is there any test I can do to check if there is something wrong with what controls the fan? Where does the fan relay get the signal from anyway?

the fan kicks in when water temp reaches 210(?) or 220(?), not sure, check the manual. maybe your car never gets to or above normal temp? I think you can check it out with ohmmeter.. sorry for being so vague.. someone with a manual should help you out more precisely

I *think* its supposed to turn on at 180, but I may be wrong. I know if you turn the AC on, the other fan should go on, if not both.
