To those that bought the LM-1 wideband, did you get the kit to tune your car, or just to monitor the a/f ratio? The basic LM-1 kit does not include the RPM converter, which is what you need to log the RPM values on the graphs along with the a/f values. Without the RPM converter, I was told over at the Innovative forums that the LM-1 kit is more of a monitor, because you can't see where in the rpm band you are going lean or rich without the rpm converter. However, the whole kit including the converter is $429, is that's expensive as hell for a wideband. Anyone have any input on this before I dish out money?

I have one without a RPM converter on my supra, and use it to tune with a SAFC.
It lets your know your A/F ratios.

Well I know that...my question was, how do you tune without knowing where on the rpm band you are lean or rich? I have a SAFC also
Tuning with a fpr and no rpm converter is probably ok. They are such broad adjustments, not really rpm specific. With the safc, watch the display and hope there is no small hole. The rpm converter is your best bet, without it your just making sure your a/f ratios aren't waaay off.

If your Air fuel ratios are that far off, you should be worrying about bigger things than an RPM converter ;)

^^^ Everyone I've talked to says Innovate has the best accuracy, so I'm going with that.
I didn't just make this up, these people proved it so also: http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2007/06/WidebandShootout/index.php and check out the graph on page 2.
I ordered the LC-1+ kit which includes the LC-1 wideband and a SSI-4 box which you can monitor RPM and up to 3 other sensors.

I see your Ford thread, and raise you a Corner Carvers: Link (http://forums.corner-carvers.com/showthread.php?t=32528)
The thread I posted disputes the Ford Muscle thread. I was really leaning towards the Innovative, but now I'm not sure - good thing I'm not buying right now. :)

I'm not really worried. For the most part people like the Innovate stuff, and their datalog software is great. They also have good customer support incase something breaks, unlike PLX.
