: fing pice of shiiit
adio0102 06-27-2007, 12:49 AM ya ive got real problem.i changed my battery twice and my alternator is good and so is my stater, but sometimes my car wont start unless u jump start it.
i was maybe thinking it could be a solinoid swith or something.ive gone through 3 batteries to see if maybe they were bad but still same shit, and my alternator is defintaley good, when i turn they key the starter clicks once like normal but still wont start.
if anyone has had this problem before and had fixed lemme know what it was,or maybe what u think i might be.
thanks alot...brian
iamhappy46 06-27-2007, 01:15 AM Check the main starter wire(the thick one)
However, it sounds like the starter motor solenoid needs a freshen up.
adio0102 06-27-2007, 02:00 AM ya thats what i thought. i thoguht they give u a new one when u get a new starter but i guess those cheap bastards never did,or maybe they dont anymore..
thanks

redb13se-r 06-27-2007, 12:22 PM check your grounds as well. especially the one that bolts to the body and engine block that comes off the neg(-) battery cable, bad grounds in sr20s are infamous for causing problems that cant be explained.
adio0102 06-27-2007, 05:07 PM ya tell me about it lol.one bad ground makes ur whole car like shit
antser 06-27-2007, 07:36 PM 1.does the car start no prob once its warmed up if so check the modulator in the distributor. had the same prob with my integra. i changed the ignition switch, and killed 2 batteries and fried my starter. i changed my coil so i ruled out my distributor but it was the modulator in it. check it out and lemme know.......hope i can help
adio0102 06-27-2007, 09:37 PM well its starts fine when cold and when warm.but sometimes it wont start at all when its hot or if it stalled out while it was running.as far as it stalling out now.i think my plug for my MAF is bad or i need new plug wires *** i get a tick noise in one of them, and there oil where the spark plug is,on the top part ***,were the wire touches.im think it wont start either *** the solinoid switch or starter is going bad. so now i have two problem.car stalls out and wont start sometimes.
lol and this is why im beginning to hate cars now lol.
antser 06-28-2007, 05:02 PM i got a buddy that works for nissan. lemme talk to him and do a little research and ill get back to you
Canx2k 06-28-2007, 05:40 PM I found a huge drain on the battery and had to jump my car all the time. It was a single small box fuse.
Location: Driver's side fender, there is a fusebox beside the battery (there's one on EACH side of the battery, it's the one that's literally bolted to the fender on the driver's side.) In there there is a few green fuses (30A) and one brown one (25A). You will know it's the right fuse if it says 'pacific' on the top and the top of it is a clear plastic shield. You can see the copper wire that is btw the posts inside of the 30A ones, they won't be fried. My 25A one was, and it was causing the relay on my ecu to not turn off, and drain the battery to nothing every night.
check that, might help. Oh yah, and try to get one from a partout here, as nissan wants like $15 EACH!
adio0102 06-28-2007, 09:02 PM ooo did u ahve to take off the fender or did u just take the plastic shit off in the wheel well?ill ahve to check those.i forgot there was fuses there.the places they put shit lol.
Canx2k 06-29-2007, 11:37 AM neither!
It's inside the engine bay, it's got a plastic cover, pops right off.
I'm in a super super good mood today, (it has to do with the wife, but I'm not going to tell you why), so here's a picture for your viewing pleasure.
IT'S ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BATTERY, BUT LOOKS LIKE THE PEICE IN THIS PIC.

The fuses are much smaller than these ***. (sorry I couldn't get an actual pic of it, my coworker took the camera.)
