My car is getting pretty high in the mileage dept but i definitely don't want to get rid of it....how hard is it to aquire an sr20det that can take it's place and does it fit right or do i need to do a lot of stuff to make it work?
im definitely no expert so i thought i might ask you people :)

As far as I know, the sr20det will bolt right in...there are a few things you have to change, like the wiring harness and ecu...I'm sure there's other stuff. A reasonable price for the WHOLE swap including emergency parts and everything when it's all said and done is 2500 or so. That's just what I've found out with talking to people though...no first hand experience...YET!!

this is kind of off topic but i was just wondering how many miles you guys think is enough till its time to swap in another engine?
i wouldnt be doing this for a long time if i ever did it but i'd probably wanna put a sr20ve in..

I've only got a T28 but roasting tires through
first and second gear is a hoot. Ask a local DET
for a ride, you will be sold. It is $$$$ but it
consider it will be fast and cheaper than a new car.

Try www.soko.com or www.kwcengine.com

They are experts...

If taken care of these engines last a long
time. 200k+ miles. As long as the car is
running strong you are good, doesn't really
matter what miles. My friend cracked open
a 150k mi engine and the cylinder walls still
had hatch marks on em!
Keep an eye on your oil level, starvation is what
does them in.

I haven't done any measuring yet so
I'll just say 0-60 is in the 5 second range
and 1/4 is in the 13s ;)

hay nx freak if you have any questions about turboing your nx, just drop me a email at goody619@yahoo.com, and i will try to answer any questions you have. or you can just give me a ring. i live right here in SD too. my nx is turboed. and it has around 142,000 miles on it. it is still running great. and there is a big difference from driving a n/a to a turbo car. :D
