either my tranny or clutch is slipping. but i cant tell which one. anyone know how to tell please let me know. thnx.

What kind of tranny oil are you running?

not sure,just bought the car like this.

probably clutch, does it act like its in neutral under heavy acceleration? Does it only slip in top end, redlining from 1st to 2nd? Mine does that because its an OEM clutch and it has a few mods and at peak RPM it sometimes loses grip and slips a bit. If thats the case with you, you'll need a stage1 clutch or kevlar disk.

thats what mine is doing, but i have no mods to my car, completely stock. but i guess its an old and really used clutch. 168k miles on it. thnx for the help.

Put the car in third gear, rev the engine to about 2500-3000 RPM and slowly let out the clutch pedal. If the engine keeps reving, the clutch is slipping. There is no possible slippage in the transmission. Have you checked the CV joints?
