: Exhaust needed suggestions?

I need to get an exhaust for my 91 SE-R with a BB engine. I was going to get it from a local muffler shop but the guy quoted me $200 more than what I was expecting, and only 1 other shop in town does 3" piping. The guy who owns the shop that gave me the high quote owes my friend a favor, so I am seeing what can be done to the price.

I know Dave Allen makes exhaust and I thought another guy in Northern Kentucky had a friend that was making exhaust. I once saw a post that had the website of a place in Florida that you could buy the prefabricated piping (does anyone know the name or website).

What other suggestions do you have for me?

Thanks

The company in Florida is VRS, http://www.vrsexhaust.com/ is the address. We B15ers have been pretty happy with his small-diameter stuff for our cars, but I can't speak for B13 or 3" systems. Miguel's a good guy, though, and willing to work with you.

So why not go with a tried and true setup like Dave's? Me and AntonioG have one. I personally love mine. I'll let AntonioG give his personal impressions of it.

yeah, Dave has spent many hours making sure that his 3" asspipe fits with no rattles, etc. that exhaust has the most suspension clearance i have seen on an a 3" system. order a resonator though, as just the muffler makes it too loud.

I will be getting a 3" exhaust soon and am leaning toward Dave's system. I also want to upgrade to a 3" downpipe like Low612 makes. The thing is that Dave's pipe is made to fit on the stock cat and the dp is made to bypass the cat. I need a cat to pass emissions. How hard do you think it would be to modify Dave's pipe to mate with a 3" cat? I bet the dp would be easy to cut a little off and put a flange on it but is it possible to get Dave's system without the 2.5" reduction? I plan on running a test pipe 99% of the time, I just need a cat for emissions.

There is no reduction on Dave's exhaust. It is a straight 3" exhaust that has a 3" flange. The flange lines up perfect with the stock cat. It just has a bigger hole in the middle.

It rocks! You definitely won't be disappointed. $400 or so and it bolts on easily. Fitment is perfection.
