I have a decent FMIC that I purchased from Andreas (who said that it would work well with my application), but I still don't have IC piping. I have done enough research to know where, how, and what IC piping to get but I have a problem when it comes to the IC. Now that I look at the IC closer, the endtanks are about 1.75" at most! #1)I can't run that small of a diameter for my IC piping and #2)If I run bigger piping, how am I going to get an airtight seal when I hook up 2.5" IC piping to the 1.75" endtanks!?!
Any suggestions to create an airtight seal is IDEAL...or do I have to get a different IC (or bigger endtanks)?
TIA

just use hose couplings that are 2.5" on one side, and 1.75" on the other. many silicon hose manufacturers sell stuff like this. check out hose techniques.

You can try going to S & L Imports off of hwy 55. They mostly work on VWs, but they can make custom intercooler pipings and turbo exhuast manifold. Not really sure how good they are because I just met one of their guys last week.

Thanks for the replies. I just ordered some 2" pipe bends from Summit Racing. I plan on getting some silicone couplers from hose techniques (hopefully they will be able to do a coupler that starts as 2" and tapers to 1.75"). Once I get the piping, couplers, downpipe from JGY, and BB DET ECU I will be ready to go turbo!!! I'll keep you posted on how everything works/doesn't work out.

Is the ic deep enough to allow larger diameter endtanks to be welded on,replacing the original ones?

What I have done on my starion intercooler:
The outlets are downwards, I have welded a plate on those. Cut new holes on each side and placed a 2"OD aluminium pipes.
