Can anyone tell me the effects of running nos in our motors.im new to this and just started looking for other solutions besides motor swap and turbo. I heard i can burn holes in the pistons and or melt the rings to the cyulinder walls

Yes it can if you run the wrong temp plugs or not enough fuel.

It can also blow the welds on your intake.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH hahahahah oh man that movie is hilarious, just do the set up right, the plugs, timeing, the fuel, if ur unsure i think it's venom that has like a lil ecu that'll pretty much regulate the mix for u but u gotta do the plugs and timing ur self but double check on that

The effect of running N20 in your car is that it will go faster. What are the effects of running it in any car.... as long as it is done right that should minimize the problems. Check out the link.

NOs is not more harmfull than any other type of forced induction if installed and operated properly. Use some 6 temp plugs, premium fuel, retard the timing and check your bottle pressure/temprature(where bottle warmers come in handy) and fuel pressure and make sure they are at the levels you tuned for before you use. To much NOs pressure could make you go lean which is the #1 cause of detonation.

True, they could make your manifold stress gauges go kindof crazy. Also its a good idea to tighten down your floor boards after every use.

how is on other parts of the motor?? does it tend to wear out bearings faster or put other unwanted wear on the engine?

Only other unwanted wear would be to the tranny/clutch, only cause of the initial shock it puts it through. That is if your drag racing with it and slicks like me anyway.

It is not a problem..... just do your research first. There are a few guys on here doing it;) , as long as it is setup proper you should be ok.

sweet, i know i have the proper fuel upgrades and i just rebuilt the my de with det pistons and rods and arp everything. so even my engine should be plenty strong to handle 15 psi and a 50 shot. but i still want to go around this section and learn all i can.

With boost and nitrous its all about having the propper amount of fuel. Honestly though by the time you set up all that nitrous stuff and spend all that money you couldve just bought a bigger turbo setup.

So a sr20ve with stock bkr6e-n-11 plugs will be ok for a wet 50 shot with the timing backed off a little? I may have to give nitrous a thought. hmmm

What you want to do is get a direct port kit with a progressive control and shoot like a 150shot.... that's fun.

you guys are making F&F jokes, but if you are running a wet nitrous setup, fuel can pool in the intake manifold, then all it takes is a backfire and the things explodes like a bomb. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/880724C3-1AB3-43C9-96A8-491BD5FBDD33.htm
