: it's got to be the maf!!!
tim_gtir 07-11-2007, 09:22 AM ok, old set up ran good. Mode:::gtir motor, gtir ecu, 444cc, b13, z32maf
I replaced new pp (act extrem) new turbo (t3/t4 turbonetics)
now the car idle rough and moved slowly (like struggling and sputting)
Here's the question,,,
If the maf is not working properly would the car change idle or die when you mess around with the (apex afc2) in and out on the setting?
When i switch from 5 in 6 out to 4in 6 out and it would die.
I'm thinking if the maf is not working it would not change at all when you switched the setting.
HkSBlueBird4u 07-11-2007, 10:00 AM 6 in 6 out or 5 in 5 out... try that
maf rarely goes bad.. check wiring to the s-afc the in1 an in2 for maf connection
vdubya63 07-11-2007, 10:58 AM Testing the maf is easy you caan always start there first?

THANKS, I'LL GO AND DO THAT.
THE AFC WAS INSTALL ALREADY WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR.
ANYONE KNOW THE WIRES COLOR?
HkSBlueBird4u 07-11-2007, 11:42 AM i believe the wire should be orange. the maf wire...
the white an yellow is suppose to be either in an out or other way around .. check
apexi wedsite for schematic.
coryb13ser 07-11-2007, 12:09 PM u got the safc wrong. the gti-r maf is 4, and z32 is 2. you need to run 2in 4out

the thing is it was working fine 5 in 6 out before the turbo/pp installed.
what i'm trying to figure out is if the MAF is not working, by changing the ins and outs it shouldn't effect the idle or cause the car to die right?

hey corey, i've been trying to contact you about your tune at RS man.
How handy are they with the Calum realtime? Are they the only place in MN that works with that ecu?

hmm, never got any pm?
as far as i know ron has not tuned with a calum realtime, im almost posotive, ive just been tuning with my safc at RS. idk if he would want to tune w it since he doesnt know the system, but im sure if you stop in and let him have a look he would consider it.

yes, changing the in/outs will have an effect on the car, it will produce totally incorrect measurements/voltages... test the voltage of the maf... if you need some help im willing to give you a hand. pm sent
94sentraSER 07-13-2007, 07:21 AM You can always check the MAF voltages , should be in the [etc.] section under [sensor chk.]
IIRC the MAF voltage should be around 1.4xxx at idle. Also check your wiring, when you dropped the tranny or when reinstalling it , you might have either ripped a wire or tore something MAF related.

I replaced another z32 maf and still the same. Now i think there's no problem with the maf but maybe wires, i will check on that.
I'm thinking it's the wastegate leaking (i think it's a ebay knock off 38mm) i know for sure it's not a tial. When i tried to turn it it was moving which i think it's not suppose to move because my brother's tial gate settup is tight and not moveable.
My reading at idle is like .5xxx what do you think is wrong with that?
Another guess is the turbo, because it's got a little bit more than normal shaft play side to side and it also got back and fort play which i think it shouldn't and my old t28 doesn't have that back and fort play.
PLus:::my o2 sensor is not hook up but i don't think it will have any effect on the bogging.
Wht91SE-R 07-15-2007, 05:45 PM Can you tell me how you fixed it because i have the same problem.

your turbo/wastegate should not affect your idle, they should not cause the car to studder or bog... have you found out what was wrong?

yeap, problem fixed. some how it's got water on the sparkplugs hole and only ran on 3 cylinder.
now it's the injector wires that has a tear everytime it's on boost it seemed to have a shortage and caused it to bog like running on 3 cylinder but that should be an easy fix.
Hybrid_DET 07-16-2007, 12:25 AM if you are using a GTiR ECU and Z32 MAF, then the settings should be 2in 5out.
