Mine are starting to crack and break in places.

I know this is off topic, but In your pic you got you tops out while autocrossing. I used to do that because of the weight, but some of the guys say that the car does better with them in, due to better chassis rigidity. I dunno. It would be good to have some evidence of the advantages either way.

I though about finding some busted or old tops, and removing the glass, just using the attachment point as a sort of crossmember, saving weight yet maintaining some rigidity. Anybody got any thoughts on that?

BTW, Sorry Tim. Not trying to steal the thread, that just made me think of this. I'll start a new one if you want.;)

BS on the rigidity stuff bloke. I ran auto-X for many years and my times were ALWAYS BETTER without the tops. Look at them close. You will notice that the slider pins are plastic. Plastic has a very low tensile strength thus NO GOOD FOR RIDGITITY. Why am I getting heated about this. :D "Kelway", your spot on about questioning this.

As the dealer states, you can replace the seals. I have not done this yet, but am also looking into replacing the glass with Carbon Fiber when I do the seals. If I do it (and the hood), I'll post the outcome.

I personally think you are better off without the weight of the tops. I ran with them in over the weekend because it was so hot and I still got my first win. It's a toss up.

Are the seals that the dealer refers to the ones on the car or the ones on the tops. I don't see how they can be repalced easily on the tops.

I know what your saying. I don't even see a part number listed on my sheet. Did they give you a part number that I could cross reference? Most of the NX's are going to need this soon. Mine does.

I had the idea of replacing my T-Top seals, but if you look closely the seal goes all the way around the door to the bottom of the A-pillar it's probably listed as a door seal. That's just a guess, though.

I can see that part. But I think he means the rubber around the glass it self?

Yes, I was refering to the rubber gasket around the glass itself.
Is there a replacement for these?

This item is not on my 91-93 parts break down. Looks like you will have to make a stop at a dealer and check.

Should be able to change it? Unless it only comes with the glass. 600 bucks per side. ;)

Ewwwwww, $600 per side... I'll try to remember to call the dealer and get the info on the new seals. Mike (561-684-4635), in parts, told me there is a listing for the seals. I need to do mine soon also. Now that my house has sold, I should be able to get together with this Carbon fiber bloke and do the Ts and hood. I have a feeling that it will take a while though. You blokes know how these things can take forever when you don't have $1,000,000.00 to blow.

I am also looking for these seals for a full body paint job that is in my future. The body shop referred me to an auto glass shop for a quote on the seals and other trim stuff. The auto glass place wanted me to drive in for the quote and I have not done that yet. If they can get them, I will squeeze out as much info as I can to post.
