i recently looked at my strut towers and i read somewhere that 240's are siliconed together because nissan is cheap...and this lead me to my question does anyone have any writeups on specific points that the 240 chassis needs to be supported with welding or upgraded...basically which parts need special attention to when prepping the chassis. thank you

Actually I think its Elmers Glue :D
What is the primary usage of the car?
Steve has a cool writeup about using 2 part foam to add some chassis rigidity.

elmers glue is to0 expensive they went for the store brand water soluble nontoxic glue...i am mainly gonna use it for autocross and time attack...and drift from time to time...im just trying to find out what areas of the car i should weld to add strength to it...pics would help too...btw i dont know who steve is can u direct me in that direction with a link?

Just remember that Nissan engineers designed the car to have a crumple zone for crashes and stuff too, so don't go overboard and weld the entire car if it's going to be driven on the streets, or it's gonna be very safe when an accident occurs...

isn't that a good thing? ;)

any time that you reinforce one part of the car , you make another point more weak . i was an assistant in the build up of the motorsport dynamics gold s13 with the rb26 in it . that car was on the roticery for aprox 4 months . we reinforced all of the seems from ten inches in front of the front strut towers all the way to a foot from the rear bumper . even for a track car , if you seam weld the entire car from bumper to bumper the car will be extremely dangerous . also , what i am saying is that if you support the strut towers then the seams around the towers are going to have more stress on them . so unless you are going to reinforce the bulk of the chassi then you might want to think about adding fender braces and a bolt in cage and call it day .
im not an english major and it is late . there are many gramatical errors in this .
