ok....my friends car(sr210det) has a strange boost problem.
in 1 st gear he cant reach more than 0.7 bar !!!
second is about 1.2 bar max.
other gears are ok.....

he has a boost control installed,but we bypassed(removed) it
in order to have factory boost circuit....

usually if you disconnect the pipe from intercooler
you have "unlimited boost" !!! but his car does not
go over 0.7 in 1st gear !! 4rd and 5th are ok,they go over 1.5
without any problems......second gear is 1.2 max.

i tried my car with disconnected pipe - i had about
1.4 in 1st gear !!!

any idea why its only 0.7 in 1st gear ???

i found out that giving about 3/4 throttle he gets about 1.4
in second gear, 1st is also much better !

but when you give full throttle you cant reach more
than 0.7 in 1st

p.s. we usually use a boost control for raising boost
to max 1.2 or 1.4......please dont think that we drive
with "ulimited boost".........control is just removed
for testing....

Probably because there isnt enough load in 1st gear to build enough boost.

yes...that might be right.....but i have the same car,
and my car goes to 1.4 in 1st gear without any problems !!!

what could be the reason for not enough load ??
can the exhaust be the reason ?? he has no cat and
only one big pipe from turbo to back with a small muffler,
which seems to be empty,because its very very loud !!

He's probably getting massive wheelspin. And why are you running so much boost?

well....its a sunny/pulsar gti-r with 4x4 ,so we dont
have any wheelspin !!

we use high boost,bacause we have drags or small
races against other very fast cars like porsche or corvette
or other....even a volkswagen golf 2 with about 380hp !!!

usually we use our cars at standard boost,which is about
0.7 bar....but when you are on highway and you follow
somebody at about 250 km/h,then it nice to have a switch
for high boost(but max. is about 1.2 - 1.4)....my friends
car runs about 270 km/h on highway,thats ok.......but
1st or 2nd gear is really bad........and we dont know why ??

those are AWD too terrintino.

what turbos are you guys running? i dont think the stock T28 is very efficient at 1.4 bar (20 psi for us backwards americans and our wonderful standard measurement system, there is nothing quite like having to do math to find out if 5/16 is bigger than 1/4:mad: ).

well.....1.2 seems to be best boost...at 1.4 there is
no more difference.....its not efficient there......and
1.2 is much better for the engine......but my friend
has a modified unit with other bearings.....but that
is not the point.....my friend is getting crazy now....
we looked everyrhing and we cant find anything....
we will reinstall the cat tomorrow....maybe his
exhaust is the problem......
