i bought a new egr and bpt valve *** i was having some bad hesitation when i first bought my nx and am just now getting around to working on it.
Yesterday i replaced the bpt and cleaned the 2 metal tubes that connect to it with some air intake and throttle body cleaner. I waited a few hours before driving the car, when i did my engine was smoking a little. could this be from the last bit of cleaner burning off? *** this morning i didnt notice it. Or could there be somethign wrong *** my motor?

is it an automatic????
***with the throttle body cleaner, you should start the engine, with the air hose leading to the throttle body unhooked, (easier with two people) and rev the engine and spray the entire can into the open butterfly. this will keep the motor running as it combusts, the car wont want to keep running while the maf isnt functioning properly. when your finished, drive the car immediately. by the way, this is good to do on a cold engine., and place a rag beneath the throttle body to catch runoff so you dont catch it on fire.
***the bpt valve, or, backpressure transducer valve, simply changes the egr backpressure into a digital signal readable by the ecu. usually you wont have any problems with that, usually its the egr valve that is clogged with carbon and needs to be cleaned and or replaced. read up on your problem on www.se-r.net . they have some useful things including what youve already tried, and possibly a MAF sensor regrounding. hope this helped.

yeah i wanna do the maf regrounding buy im a bit scared to mess something up as i have never soldered on my car before and i kept up on that horror storie that happend in the se-r mailing list.
and im also not sure if i just cut the ground wired and reattach and ground my own or what. i need either someone to showme a picture or keep researchin like usual

Make sure that you deal with all of the basic tune-up stuff before you invest too much time/money dealing with the EGR and MAF equipment. I had very bad hesitation and spent a lot of time cleaninig all of that stuff to no avail.
Then I cleaned up the cap and rotor with some fine grit sand paper and the hesitation went away instantly. I bought a new set soon afterwards and the problem has not returned.
You should probably take a look at your plugs/wires while you are at it.

BG makes an excellent kit for cleaning air intake systems and fuel systems. i work at victory nissan here in richmond, the kit for me is about 25. for you probably 35-40. BG makes a great product and it couldnt hurt to try it!
