Quick Question, I bought a used Stillen intake and it didn't come with instructions... seems that a heatshield came with it, before getting my hands dirty, what is the appropriate position to install the heatshield? I figure this will be somewhat apparant while installing it, but knowledge before hand will make it even easier... and after installing, do I need to do anything like disconnect the battery for awhile to reset the ECU or that's not necessary

Its not a heatshield bro. Its the monting piece that will hold the filter up. That way it just doesn't hang there.

hehe okay, dummy me, looked like a heatshield as far as I could tell... just a big metal partition of some sort, so I assume to mount it underneath the filter so like martin said to support it?

The two holes on the "heatshield":D line up with the stock mounting bracket or the bodyof the car, I don't remember wich. But they do line up with excisting holes. There is no need for drilling. If you need to install your AGX you can come down to one of our SERCA "geek outs" and we'll help you out. E-mail me for details.

Got the intake on today, it sounds sweeeeeeeeet.............
All i gotta say is :D :D :D :D :D

On a side note, one of the screws that go into the velocity stack thingamajig broke, the head just broke off, I dunno what I did, but oh well, intake still works fine, 3 screws + the 'heatshield' :D supporting it seem good enough support for now ..

One more stupid question if anyone reads this, the K&N filter that came with my intake had a hole on the top of it??? I had no clue what to do with it, so I just put a piece of tape over it.... is that right? Or does a sensor plug in? The only sensor I saw while removing the stock airbox was connected to a plastic 'ram air' type thing along the fender. However, I just removed the plastic 'ram air' thing from the stock air box and put it back where it was, with the sensor plugged in still... so Im not sure if thats correct... I took it for a test drive, everything seems good, not sure if I feel a power difference, but it sure sounds good, and no check engine lights or anything funny like that....
