when i had a generic POP, i would consistent trap 69.5, 69.8, and even 70.5mph once


i changed nothing on the car but swapped a CAI for the POP. last week I was only able to muster a 67mph


It's also now harder for me to get the car to chirp 2nd gear... though the clutch might be worn out


Still, after racing a few same guys on the freeway -- discounting launches and shifting -- I found that I was the same... or actually even slower than before. My gas mileage is the same ***, so I don't think I need a tuneup.


Anyways, end of rant. What do you people trap?

Bone stock my old '91 pulled 10.20s,10.30s at 66 to 67. That was with ZERO mods on stock tires.

I guess it depends on where you shift. My se-r with just a generic intake ran the same trapspeeds. I also found that I needed to hold the 1-2 and 2-3 shift to about 100-200rpm above the rev limiter.

When I had jst a Pace Setter Header I was running 9.9's to 10.3's
I was clocking 69-71 trap speeds.

i think your car is just jinxed.......... by the way i was trapping 71 with my more stock than yours '91:p
