: I have a problem with Project SE-R
SERprise In WV 06-25-2002, 10:11 AM It hurts to post this about a (presumed) friend, but I have been left with no choice in the matter...
John Minnic (ProjectSE-R) has owed me $180 plus $30 for FedEx shipping since January 5 of this year, for some turbo parts.
-FMIC piping kit, $100
-Subaru 2.5RS hood scoop, $50
-BB TMIC piping, $30
-FedEx shipping, $30
TOTAL: $210
Throughout the months of February to April, John would return my calls and emails, always stating that he was 'working on it' and would 'see what's in my paycheck next week' so it would be 'maybe then'. Being a nice guy, I fell for it, and went with it.
And went with it, and went with it, and went with it.
John had some personal problems during this time, so I didn't feel the need to press the issue further. Again...nice guy syndrome.
My last email and conversation with John happened about 10 days ago. Again, I was told, "Let me see what's in my paycheck on Friday. I should be able to pay you this weekend." Those are exact quotes.
Further emails have gone with no reply from John, he does not answer his cell phone when I call any more, and now, when I sign on to AIM and he is on, he immediately signs off to avoid me. I really needed the money owed me to help in my purchase of a new set of slicks/wheels, and made that clear to John in the final emails. No reply, no effect on him. The owner of the slicks/wheels wouldn't wait any further, so I went ahead and made the money appear from my savings account since John was now a deadbeat.
Just wanted to post this here for all to see in case they are considering doing any business with ProjectSE-R aka John Minnic (what happened to the new batch of t-shirts anyway?). He's my friend/was my friend, but this behavior is not acceptable and I have been as forgiving a person as I can possibly be.
Six months is five months too many, John.
Soopastank 06-25-2002, 10:46 AM Looks like these post are are becoming a norm here on this forum. Sorry to hear about this happening to you Greg. Hopefully this lights a fire under ProjectSE-R and things are made right.
SmoothDaddyFig 06-25-2002, 10:54 AM another one!!!!
Im gonna kick all ya'lls asses!!!
What the hell is going on here?
Damn, Greg. I am horrified to hear this. I know you two were down like 3 flat tires on a Spec-V with no jack or spare.
I hope you guys get this resolved pronto.
  :( :( :o
OnyxEros 06-25-2002, 10:59 AM I hope this is just a misunderstanding.
I have done business with john I.E. my intake cam and he has been good to me.
it seems as if i will have to revert to what Jacen and I have been done with is make transactions face to face.
Jacen would agree that is the best way
Sorry about your troubles
I hope it get's resolved

bl200sx 06-25-2002, 11:00 AM Hi greg, sorry to hear about this, not to trying to be a smart azz here, but you should never ship with out money in hand, I'm sure you know this now.
this goes out to John Minnic (ProjectSE-R), look if you can not pay greg in full, could you make some 20-50 dollar payments until this is paid up.This would clear this matter up.
Inkorekt 06-25-2002, 11:00 AM Man, I about had a heart attack when I read the word "John." I thought maybe there was a problem with the tranny you got from me or something. Freaked me out. Anyway, good luck and I hope you get your money.
Toolapcfan 06-25-2002, 11:11 AM I could have been in a similar situation several times now. I've been trying to sell some power windows for a Beretta and a Tempo for months now and every time I get someone to buy them I wait for a check and it never comes and never comes and I ask them via e-mail what's up and they typically don't reply. I don't get it. I'm selling this stuff cheap, trying to cut my losses on what time and cash I've spent obtaining the parts, but mostly to avoid throwing the shit away because I don't want it taking up space in my garage. I'm trying to give them a good deal and cut my losses a little and they fall through every time. If I would have sent them before payment I would have been in this situation twice already. Granted we're not talking about as much money as Greg is out, I'd be out $110 total for both sets of power windows, but it would still suck. Like Greg, I'm trying to be a nice guy, help some people out. I would never try to pull this kind of shit with a stranger and certainly not with a friend. I just don't understand. These people need to have some goddamn morals! :( Regardless of understanding, Greg sent the stuff and is out that money and the other person has not paid for it yet. If they don't have the money, fine, mail it back to Greg and pay for his shipping it to them. As well as apologize for possibly having him miss out on selling the parts because they had them, and for having to be out that money until he got the parts back. That's only the courteous thing to do.
Shoes59 06-25-2002, 11:26 AM It's sad that this seems to be a regualr occurance on the forum lately. I *never* ship parts till I have cash in hand. If someone wants it bad enough they'll send the money first. I always provide all my contact information including office number to put the buyer at ease.

These parts were delivered face-to-face, as we live close enough (3 hours) that we see each other at events and the like. Plus, John was on his way to JGY's to do his DET swap when he picked up the TMIC pipe and hood scoop.
I agree with you all: Never ship anything until money is in hand. This situation is different, as we are/were more than acquaintances on an internet forum.
Just had to clear that up.

bl200sx 06-25-2002, 11:47 AM Hi Greg, you had said in your post there was a Fedex shipping of $30 dollars, I guess we just thought you had shipped these parts to him.
SERprise In WV 06-25-2002, 11:57 AM Good point. Let me clarify that as well. The $30 for FedEx shipping was for my wife to ship up a BB intake pipe with BOV on it to Ben's geek-out on January 5. John had to have it for his turbo install we did that weekend, as his intake pipe had a broken-off vacuum hose barb on it. I swapped him even for it, and repaired the pipe he had.
It's on my car, now.
It was for Saturday Delivery, not a cheap means of shipping anything.

Bowlcut 06-25-2002, 12:06 PM Oh man that blows. John is far from a bad guy either. I hope there is a good reason behind it, as I know he has had some problems but dang.
domiguy 06-25-2002, 02:35 PM This sucks, I'm thinking that John has some big problems right now.... because I'm pretty sure he's running the t-shirt thing, and he hasn't said anything about that for a while. Well I did buy a gauge pod from him about a month ago and he sent it promptly so he's done some good things.... I hope this gets resovled.
Jose...
Storm88000 06-25-2002, 02:37 PM Well looks like it's not just me. Feel fortunate Greg that you lost much less than $600 - I still haven't gotten a dime or any cams from NX2KRidah.
ProjectSE-R 08-22-2002, 11:35 AM Unbelievable Gregory...

SERprise In WV 08-22-2002, 12:03 PM What part of this is "unbelievable", John? Just which part is not 100% factual? Point it out to me and I will change it immediately.
The problem is...there's nothing you can point to that isn't 100% factual in either of those two posts. Admit it.
8 months later and *now* you have something to say to me other than, "Let's see what's in my paycheck next week." or "I'm good for it."?
How dare you.
Also, don't think we don't know about your other screenname of Insane PSI, either. Why do you need another screenname here, John? You can run but you cannot hide.
Crono1321 08-22-2002, 12:04 PM Upon reading the other thread, it sounds like he was trying to be a nice guy/ good friend. If you were doing a good deed for your friend that required your money to be invested in it, would you continually harass him and be hateful and say "I better get my money soon" or would you try to take the friendly way and say "Get it to me whenever you can?" To most human beings this means that the person who helped us out was already nice enough to help, now he is being courteous and giving us some time to repay him/her. This doesn't LITERALLY mean "whenever," he was trying to be nice. If I owe someone money I do whatever I can to get it to them. If you didn't have the money, why buy the stuff from him? I don't know the whole deal but from what it sounds like, you should always have a little money in savings/whatever before you make a purchase, something usually goes wrong that ends up costing you money. I want to buy most of my turbo parts from a guy right now. I could tell him the checks in the mail but I don't want to get blacklisted on this forum or se-r.net. Plus I just don't think its right to lead people on. If you abuse your friendship its going to come back and get you.

What is unbeliveable is you John. 8 months is way too many. Greg was trying to be a good friend and you're taking advantage of him. If you are hardpressed for money, then why are you hurting yourself like this? I'm dead broke and would love to turbo my car. But seeing as I'm in college and not making jack an hour, I'm not. I can't afford it, and evidently neither can you. It doesn't take a lot to make things better. I'm sure Greg would liek to see you even making some sort of payment. $20-30/ a week is better than $0 for 8 months...
Serban 08-22-2002, 12:43 PM Its bad enough when you get scammed by someone you dont know...and lets face it, that happens every once in a while. But getting scammed by someone you know, who you consider a friend is just so much worse.
Digitek 08-22-2002, 02:30 PM heck if i was really broke i would just take $1 a day i bet that doesn't hurt anyone just reduce your diet or eat something less I don't know we waste $1 in any crap why not just save it and each month saying there is 30 days id have $30 bucks a month and if you multiply that by 8 thats $240 id have my debt cleared up already...its all in thinking of ways to deal with the situation and making a happy midium. since the buyer is cormftable with the payment and most important the seller is atleast seeing some cash flow its 100 times better than $0.
I dont know thats just my opinion....and thats in some extra xtreme case *** damn $1 a day heh take an other route to work you don't need to pay toll that might save you a few $$ :)
