thought i heard something about pouring urethane in your old motor mounts a while back. if this is true, what is the entire story behind it. i would love to do this if it works better than the e.s. inserts.
thanx

Se-R mailing list archives. It has actually come up quite recently on the digest; so just hop on over to SE-R.net and check em out. Many different opinions experiences and thoughts on the DIY motor mounts.
Hope this helps! :)
i used a product called super weld. it works a lot better than dura mix or trans star urethane fillers. also, some people like to put metal pieces in between the holes and then fill with urathane, do not do that. It'll make loud noises from the pieces of metal shifting.

I am taking this on this weekend at Ben's place during the midwest geekout. You buy some 94 Shore Urethane and simply tape off one side of your mounts and pore in the urethane in the otherside. You let them side for at least 24 hours and slap them back in the car. Cost? $24. ES Mounts? A LOT more.

P.S. I will be taking many, many pics at the geekout this weekend. Look for them on Monday sometime.

I used 3M windowweld. I did it on my mounts for my 323 GTX. Other GTX owners tried different urethane's and 3M got the highest remarks. My 2 cents.

Im selling my Mcmaster Carr 94a shore urethane resin. I was gonna do my mounts but decided to go with Super Weld because I checked my mounts and only one of them needs to be fixed. I've used the 94a shore on all my mounts but did a sloppy job on them. So Im just redoing the transmission mount. And I decided to just use super weld. New and unused (obviously!!) Anyways for sale for 25 bux shipped. I lose about 5 bux oh well. Either that or I'll think about returned it to McMaster Carr...

I bought the ES inserts and filled it up with 3M Windw Weld, get the fast curing stuff, it works better...I put mine under a heat lamp for overnightand it was hard as a rock the next morning....and surprsingly enough my car does not vibrate that bad at all... so I have about $70 invested in my motor mounts...and I have all the ES motor mouns...eleminated wheel hop..that and the crappy Kumho 712's...
