i own a b15 sentra w/ sr20de. have regualr bolt ons. my question is in regards of reliability. in two years. i have put 66k miles on it. spent over 2k in repeairs (void warranty). since this is the best place for sr20, how reliable is the sr20de engine? will it last another 60k miles.

Greendot it should last 3 times that, and then more if you take good care of it.

Greendot, how the hell do you spend 2K in repairs? I haven't spent anywhere near that and I have 142,500 miles on mine AND it's turboed. You need to find a better dealership if they are voiding your warranty because of bolt ons.

Also if they insist on voiding you warranty you need to NOT to take it to the dealer. They charge more than 45/hr

my thoughts exactly!! did you spend that $$ after 36k miles? to answer your question though, yes this engine will last longer than most *** engines (well beyond 120k).

yeah, you can get 200,000+ miles out of the SR20. I don't see why the dealers care about bolt on's, Nissan pays them for all warranty work done on there cars, plus they have to prove the bolt on caused the problem, I don't think most bolt on's are going to hurt anyhow, unless you have a turbo, or NOS.

sounds good. i guess i can count on it for atleast a few more years. home-work-home commute for me is 150+ miles daily.

in regards of the repairs, it cost me $1000 for new A/C system(all hoses, evaporators and acc). 2 wheel bearings for $115 each, egr valve for $300, both 02 sensors $240, and some other small stuff not covered under warranty.

i still wish i got a 98 se-r. seems like i can do more work on an older se-r or any other sr20de powered car then my b15.

also, i change all my fluids religiously.
